PBB: John Donne - Divine Poems and Holy Sonnets
I have been working on a collection of Donne's Divine Poems and Holy Sonnets (including The Cross, A Litany, La Corona). I have also thrown in A Funeral Elegy and the Anniversaries (because they are brilliant).
I am not sure if anyone is interested in this kind of thing, but I have uploaded the .docx and a thumbnail image of Donne to enable this to be converted via the PBB tool.
Just a word of warning, due the the present limitations of the PBB tool, I have had to copy the verse into tables pretty much line by line, cell by cell, in order to ensure that the line numbers and the marginal notes (for the Anniversaries) line up. If you tinker with the font, it may throw the whole thing out.
My personal version of the PB is annotated, but I have removed this indulgence from the attached. I have, however, retained minimal notes where this relates to the date or occasion. This can easily be removed should it prove to be an annoyance.
I have held back Donne's most famous sermon, Death's Duel, as I am hoping to compile a collection of his sermons (if I can locate/convert adequate source documents).

I have L3 PBB source files for Devotions Upon Emergent Occasions that will take me just a little time to fix up for L4.
I believe Death's Duel is at the very end of it.

I have a few collections (including the Major Works), which include Death's Duel. It would be good to have this and Devotions in L4.
I would like to compile a collection of the sermons, but the only source files I have been able to find are facsimiles of the early folio edition which utterly baffles my OCR software (incidentally, this is a great website for all things Donne). Copying and pasting into Word is marginally more successful, but would still take hours per sermon just to reformat, proof read and correct the mis-copied characters. I was wondering if you were aware of any source files for the sermons which might be more usable?

The old L3 html files need to be converted to .docx in Word first before you can compile them.

Andy, what is the publication date of the source where you got this collection of poems? Wikipedia lists the publication date of Divine Poems (including the Holy Sonnets) as 1990, but that can't be the original date.

Apologies, it was remiss of me to not include this in the original zip.
The 1633 Folio edition, Poems by J.D. with Elegies on the Author's Death, is the first published collection of Donne's works. You can review the facsimile here. From this, I have selected the Holy Sonnets and divine poems (the latter categorisation is my own and my selection is influenced heavily by my tastes, i.e. one might well challenge the inclusion of The Anniversaries under the heading, 'divine poems'...). Everything included in this collection is found in the 1633 edition.
Much of my work is based on the 1633 edition (I had the privilege of working from an original MSS), but I have leaned heavily on a couple of modernised collections (particularly the 1990 Oxford University edition of Donne's Major Works, edited by the brilliant John Carey) for the date of writing, textual notes, etc.
I have pondered as to whether to enlarge on this and produce a replica of the 1633 edition (probably with modernised spelling) as I have access to the majority of the source files, but am unsure as to whether there will be much, if any, interest in The Flea and the like (given that Logos is bible software).
I'd be interested as to whether people would find this useful (it would take me a couple of weeks to pull it together).
My great ambition is to produce a collection of Donne's sermons, but I am unsure whether this will be practical as I cannot see anyway of pulling facsimiles into Word without retyping the entire thing (10 volumes)... Which isn't really an option.

Having Donne's sermons in Logos would be fantastic. I googled and found they're available already in digitized form (PDFs that are OCR'ed): http://lib.byu.edu/digital/donne/. It would still be a lot of work to get it all into Word one page at a time, selecting, copying, pasting, proofing, and then formatting for PBB, but at least it wouldn't be as arduous as typing all 10 volumes in again. However in one sample place I tried selecting, some of the words didn't get picked up, so it would be hit or miss, and a lot of fix-up work.
