Schaff's Creeds of Christendom (new PBB)
I was interested in finding a .docx or .doc of the Phillip Schaff's Creeds of Christendom, I wanted to make them into Personal Books. I had downloaded the previous PB's, but the old format doesn't work on Logos 4 Mac. Thanks!
Blessings,
Philana

I took your task up as a challenge so I went onto CCEL and generated the following from their .txt version. There are no page numbers but there are 1st and 2nd level heading and footnotes. The footnotes are automatically generated from a script I put together so there may be some errors along the way. generally if the hyperlink number matches the number in brackets beside it you should be good. If the footnote is more then 1 paragraph though it will only be the first paragraph.
Also, this is only volume 1.

Thank's I will try this out. Where can you get the .txt versions, I couldn't find them, but then CCEL has changed.

go to ccel.org>browse>authors>s>Schaff and you should see it listed.

Thanks, I found them. I will have to play around with the others. These are very valuable for studying church history.
God Bless!

Note that Creeds of Christendom is available for pre-order as part of the Philip Schaff Collection, which is already under development. If you want to save yourself some work, you could order that. However there's no telling how much longer it will be before the collection is ready, and it's a lot to pay if all you want is the Creeds of Christendom. Unfortunately, if you do end up doing the PB for yourself, it would violate Logos's stated policy for you to share your work on the forum with others since it would compete with their version. I'm holding out for the pre-pub myself.

Thanks for the guidelines reference. I had remembered a post by Bob a while back that I thought said he didn't mind posting .docx files but when I read the forum guidelines this one seems to rule out posting .docx files on the forum....

Just in case someone else comes across this post I thought it would be helpful to have the rule posted.

I'm not entirely sure what I consider to be right or wrong here, but just to present a differing opinion, here's Mark Barnes' interpretation of the rules: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/36739/285972.aspx#285972

I had also interpreted it the way Mark did. But I am carefully sharing no files until I know what the "store" will be and until I get some sense of the quality that users expect.

I was about to email someone grom logos and ask for their desire when I thought "if I owned logos what would my desire be." I don't think I would want competing products posted. I think I'll go by that.

There is one issue that I still need to see how Logos works out - that is shared notes for collaborative work. I may need "unofficial" copies of some materials (paying attention to copyrights) in Zotero that can be fed back as personal books. And there are also issues regarding my personal topical indexing of creeds that link to resources that Logos may well offer in the future but do not have now.

Thanks Rosie, I didn't even realize Logos was making them, if I had, I wouldn't have posted this. I will wait for Logos.

Sorry to resurrect and old thread, but I'm looking for vols 2 & 3. Had anybody had any luck compiling them to .docx PBB format? If so, would you mind sharing, perhaps on stilltruth.com?
If not, I'll try my hand at it. Halo Hound, do you happen to have that script around still, and if so would you mind sharing?

Logos has a pre-publication => Philip Schaff Collection (21 vols.) that includes Creeds of Christendom, which needs more orders to change status from "Almost there!"

Unfortunately I'm not sure I do. If I do its probably buried in a file long forgotten. I've since had to re-install Windows and I'm deployed overseas without the time to look for it. Sorry.

Was this collection ever in Community Pricing, or was it always a Pre-pub?
Just checking to see if I needed to kick myself.

I don't think it was ever in CP. If it was, I missed out on it too. I ordered it fro $139.95, which is the current pre-pub price.

Note: it now has a ship date
