However, I am a little confused, which isn't unusual  

I am a poor classics student - so I purchased the LSJ and use that as best as I can with the Perseus texts.  It's really great but I do wish they were more "linked."  Especially on my Ipad which is where I do most of my study.  

I have two questions:  

The Greek Bundle sounds pretty good.  Does it come with an iOS platform that allows better linking between texts and resources?  If so, I'd snatch this up in a second.  What else would I need to purchase to make this work?   

Also, the Ancient Greek Philosophy texts appear to be in English translations.  What gives??

You can link resources on both the desktop and the iOS apps.

Oh, I see. No it doesn't work like that. Link/Sync is designed for two resources that share the same reference. So it would sync the Greek text and and English translation, or the text and a commentary on the text.

On the desktop you can achieve this be clicking the resource menu in LSJ and choosing "Send hyperlinks here". There's no equivalent in iOS, though sorry.

I would hope that Noet might bring some improvements to the lookup facility of the mobile apps, but no-one from Logos has ever said that it's on the roadmap, as far as I know. So all we can do for now is open a split screen, press and hold on the Greek text in the upper window and choose Bible Word Study, and then select LSJ from the lower window. It's more steps than I would like, and requires an internet connection, but it's the best we've got at the moment.

Thanks Mark - I should think this would be a primary focus.  Most peeps going forward will be doing work on iOS devices, I'd be willing to bet.  

One thing I don't get though:  if I follow what you say, what's an easy way to get back to where I was in the original text??

If you have a split window open, you don't need to get back to where you were: http://www.logos.com/support/bible/ios/panels

If you don't want a split window, you can use the history button to get back to where you were. Press it to go back once, press and hold to jump back further: http://www.logos.com/support/bible/ios/history

Thanks again Mark.  Sorry for being such a pain  

In split screen, when I choose a word in the text on the top panel, I then choose "Look Up" and then "Bible Word Study." 

Then, the "Bible Word Study" screen appears in the bottom panel.  In there, I press LSJ - when then changes the top panel to my LSJ at the word I'm looking for.  

So, the top panel will toggle back and forth between my text and my LSJ; while the bottom panel will always be the "Bible Word Study."   

Is that correct?

I'd definitely say that the Logos desktop program is amazing. Ideally, I'd like the iOS app to replicate the simplicity with which the desktop program undertakes searching of words: right-click on the word, click 'look up' and straight away links to the appropriate definition within LSJ on the bottom panel.

I did have a read through the other threads concerning the Logos iOS app and understand there are some substantial differences between the desktop environment and iOS so that many of the more intensive features of the desktop aren't able to incorporated to the iOS app. Ideally I'd particularly like an offline search for LSJ, but if that's not possible (due to the cloud-based nature of the word study tool I'm assuming), I would enormously appreciate a simplified word study process, preferably by-passing the 'word study' step completely and going straight to the LSJ!

Many thanks for the very kind welcome Milford! It's a pleasure to be here. I'm very much looking forward to the release of Noet for desktop, and I think that occasion may chance the purchase of another monitor or two, perhaps Logos in one screen and Noet in another?

Also I just happened to realise that one apparently need not click on 'look up' at all for Logos, all it takes is a double-click to bring up the appropriate entry in LSJ! I would think this far simpler (and less hazardous!) than to balance precariously on a stool to fetch the hardcover LSJ and pray that it doesn't give you a concussion if it slips out one's fingers.
