It's 2020 now and no SDA International Commentary set in sight. Even if we had the text ready to go for Logos it would take them quite a while to make it available to Logos users. Actually, not meaning to be too pessimistic, I don't think that they put too much priority on our denomination. They still haven't fixed all the E. G. White Books. Some are still formatted in weird ways with hanging indent on each paragraph like in Patriarchs and Prophets and many other books. They said that that is the way they got the text so they left it that way. I don't see too many books printed or formatted that way so why didn't they ask if we really wanted them that way. We (some of us) have put in typo requests to have it fixed but they don't think that it is too big of a deal to have it fixed.
I understand your frustration with the formatting issues and agree they should be fixed but FL don’t ask users for their opinion on these issues they go by the files provided to them. It has nothing to do with these being SDA resources, its all about the publishers files.

Doubt they have the license to make it available. They were supposed to make volume 1 available at this year's General Conference as far as I can remember. It is not available in print on Adventist Book Center, where I anticipate it will be posted initially.
Hope Logos can secure rights to publish. I do not see myself buying 50 or more volumes in paper. Takes up too much space, too heavy to ship and don't know if they will allow paying for the product over a year's period.

Thanks David. Let's start writing Pacific Press asking for it to be made available in Logos.

My Avondale Seminary lecturer said they would officially release the new SDA Commentary at the next General Conference Session, which was delayed by two years to June 6-11, 2022 due to COVID-19 impacts. Thanks for the update Luke. Welcome to the forums. Now if a deal can be worked out to get it in Logos. Not only am I not planning to go to the Genera Conference, it would be expensive to lug all of those books home on a plane. Unless I win the lottery which I do not play. [:)]

Is/will SDA International Bible Commentary be published by Andrews University Press?
If so, Faith Life initiated already The Andrews Bible Commentary (2 vols.). I've just preordered it. It is listed as gathering interest. Hope more preorder this one.

As for the SDAIBC I suppose Faith Life might initiate the same procedure (volume by volume) and once enough people preorder it they will release it in Logos. Shall we write Logos that we want this?
Stoyan
By the way, Richard, the list price of Andrews Bible commentary hard copy set is $139.99, while the preorder from Faith Life is only $60.99. This is a very substantial discount.
This could mean that if Faith Life releases SDAIBC, it will be substantially discounted upon preorder.
v.6 Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Songs of Songs hard copy costs $59.99, so something like $40 makes sense.
SDAIBC is supposed to consist from 15 volumes. 2 are already released with 2 more this year and then 3 each consecutive year. Something like by 2027 we can have the whole collection as hard copies.
SDAIBC is published by Pacific Press, while Andrews Bible commentary by Andrews University Press. It seems to me that Faith Life releases a lot from Andrews University Press (292 hits on Logos site), while I see (almost) nothing from Pacific Press at Logos. Hopefully an agreement can be reached about the SDAIBC and then I am sure many will preorder (me included).
Stoyan
Filkarane, it seems logos releases something, only if enough people preorder it. For example, although the Andrews Bible commentary has strong interest, still is far away to reach enough preorders half an year later.
I am wondering if SDAIBC can collect enough preorders. Still we should try. How can the process of preorders be initiated?
As for the Andrews Bible commentary, I preordered it for $60.99. It seems it was Logos mistake, because the preorder now is about double - $110.99.

I was wondering that as well Stoyan. I've been looking at the books for SDAIBC, but love to order them from Logos. I also preordered the Andrews Bible commentary at the same price you did. I was wishing there was more interest as well so I could get mine. The publishing company's I imagine won't promote it that way because they would loose money.[:(]
Add my vote to the list.

Except the commentary on the book of Genesis by Dr Doukhan, are there other commentaries available already?
I've only seen Genesis.
I hope it can be released on Logos volume by volume instead of having to wait to 2020 or beyond (since it seems that the church likes it to be exclusively at the ABCs first)
I would like it as well and would not like to wait till 2020.
By the way, I wonder what is going on that nobody posts in the SDA products much anymore? I don't even hear from Martin anylonger.
SDA Starter has 225 resources and we are all reading them cover to cover and thus do not have time to post.
The first volume out in the series, Genesis by Dr. Jacques Doukhan, is really good. It is clear that he brings a lifetime of reflections on Genesis to this commentary. It might take a while before it gets into Logos, so you guys might want to buy it in print in the mean time.
What a shame, I was hoping it would be available in Amazon UK but it is not. I would like to read how SDA interprete certain passages in Genesis.
Is this book available in the UK?

Ted, At my time of life I am having to go electronic for soon downsizing so share your feelings.
The USA publishing house ( http://www.adventistbookcenter.com/sda-international-bible-commentary-genesis.html ) might well refer the order to the UK publishing house however. This is the book that you want NOT the old commentary set that was only a set of 7 volumes for both OT & NT. .
Try the UK publishing house email at sales@stanboroughpress.org.uk tel 01476591700 Stanborough Press Ltd., Alma Park, Grantham, Lincs., NG31 9SL. Open Monday to Thursday. Specify the new commentary Genesis volume by Jacques B. Doukhan. They should be helpful at finding out how long it will take to get it across the pond but establish a price first especially with the fluctuating pound.
Logos take note that people are interested!
I would also like to have this Bible commentary at Logos!

The New commentary being produced or the old commentary. The SDA Bible commentary already is in Logos and is for sale. [:)]
It is a New Adventist Bible Commentary ("SDA International Bible Commentary - Genesis"): https://www.adventistreview.org/church-news/story4455-new-adventist-bible-commentary-to-squeeze-the-juice-from-scriptures

no this is the teaser the are due in 2020
Jason, I would like to agree with you but Commentary sets are notorious for being late in coming out after (sometimes well after) the due date. Many things can happen to delay the process including (sadly) the death of the writer(s). I would take Reimar's suggestion to consider buying print versions seriously.
