Any chance we'll see some of these Carta materials in Logos? I always see these at SBL and think "wow, those are great visuals."

    Sacred Bridge!

They also have a couple of nice books I would not mind having in my Logos library. Ahituv's Echoes From The Past and Yardeni's The Book of Hebrew Script.

    The Book of Hebrew Script.

Could be nice with: "Specimens of Mediaeval Hebrew Scripts" Beit Arie, Yardeni, Engel et al. (The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities) but I am not sure how many Logos users are interested in Hebrew scripts and manuscripts...

Ben ... have you sent these suggestions to suggest@logos.com?

    YES!!!   PLEASE!!!      imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimage

    I'll buy in a heartbeat.

In fact, the idea of suggesting The Illustrated Atlas of Jerusalem has been in my head a couple of times the last few days. Just not when I was at the computer.

(And if you don't put these in prepub soon I'll be seriously tempted to buy you-know-what and the-link-that-has-now-been-removed! [;)] )

I have indeed sent these to suggest@logos.com

I also sent an email to Carta, and got a very positive response that seemed to indicate the ball was in Logos' court, so...

Has everyone else sent this in to suggest@logos.com?

I too would definitely buy this. I have it in hardback, but if it was in Logos, I could use it in my classes. It is such a great classroom tool. Send the pictures to powerpoint, and excerpt important parts of the text for your notes accompanying the powerpoint slides.

    The Illustrated Atlas of Jerusalem

I see this has now been updated: The Carta Jerusalem Atlas (Formerly Illustrated Atlas of Jerusalem)

Another one that looks interesting is Carta's Illustrated Encyclopedia of the Holy Temple.

I've never used the Carta Atlas but your post reminded me of my favorite atlas that I have ever used.

I just wrote a suggestion to Logos. – The Macmillan Bible
Atlas but Yohanon Aharoni and Michael Avi-Yonah. What I love about this atlas is that it has specific maps for most of the major Bible events that would benefit from maps.

     http://www.amazon.ca/Macmillan-Bible-Atlas-Yohanan-Aharoni/dp/0025006053

This by far is the best Bible Atlas that I have owned and
would love to see it in Logos.

Can anyone compare the Carta with the Macmillan?

This is too funny. I did some more research and I think that it is the same book - just with a revised title.

    The Carta Bible Atlas

    by Yohanon Aharoni

This fourth edition of the best-selling The Macmillan Bible Atlas brings the latest findings of biblical, historical, and archaeological research to its sweeping cartographic portrayal of biblical history.

    - settlement and mass migrations of populations
    - skirmishes, battles, and conquests described in the Bible
    - economic developments, trade routes, and natural resources
    - the movements of biblical characters within the Holy Land, its districts and cities
    - archaeological excavations in the Holy Land from the Stone Age, the Chalcolithic period, and the Israelite and Second Temple periods
    - the journeys of the Apostles and the growth of the Church in the first and second centuries A.D.
In addition, valuable appendices, a detailed comparative chronology of early civilizations, a key to the maps according to the books of the Bible, and a new index to persons make this work the most comprehensive Bible Atlas available.

I wonder if Accordance holds a computer exclusive on  Carta products since they partnered with them a few years back to bring all Carta products to Accordance.

Add them both please.  There's always room for more of this sort of material.  It can be easy to overlook the significance of geography when reading the scriptures.

The Carta Bible Atlas is a newer edition of the Macmillan product. I have the revised Macmillan Bible Atlas from 1977 and the 5th ed. of the Carta Bible Atlas still contains those features you liked—still in the two color style for the maps.

    Carta?

Perhaps as part of the academic focus in the next six months?!

    Riiiiiight! 😂

I tried to personally find out about this whole thing but the answer remained the same, “nothing for the foreseeable future!”  Very unfortunate but oh well 😬

Anyone remember Tov? Gee, they really are interested in academic? I admit, after experiencing Verbum yesterday, I'm not particularly more positive. Then, you have 'maps'. Did NETS ever arrive? And Francis wants his Logos to work. I better shut up.

As I recall, this thread was started on the very day that program announced the Carta resources (certainly not many days after), and as you can see from my first post the OP originally included a direct link to that announcement. So I think they know. [:D]

For those of you who haven't yet found out, there is now a Carta suggestion at Logos' new Uservoice site for prepubs: Add books from Carta. Please go add your vote[s ]. And then add the remainder of your votes to other suggestions -- preferably mine.[:D]

(There is also a new Uservoice site for CP's, with another ten new votes for you to spend: http://communitypricing.uservoice.com/forums/183260-general/filters/top.)

I bought a package in the 'other' Bible software company. Just to buy the Carta resources. I very much doubt Logos hasn't decided on Carta ...

What really impressed me was their using the Book of the Wars of YHWH for much of their locational information. I'm disappointed Moses had a copy in his library, but Logos refuses to carry it.[8-|]

I still choose to be optimistic about Faithlife carrying these someday but I understand and share in your disappointment that it has not taken place yet.

I wish that there was something more we/I could do to facilitate this happening.

I know! Me too! It is ONLY the maps/Carta that are tempting me to try out Accordance. I have waited so long for Logos to have good maps, but it just hasn't happened. Hopefully it will soon.

Unless they skip prepup and get published like some resources in the past, I don’t think it’s going to happen.  It’d be nice if it did.

Personally, I’m not planning on duplicating the set anymore unless it was available in Spanish.  Why contract negotiations have failed between CARTA publishers and FL is beyond comprehension, but it doesn’t matter anymore.
