Is there a way to tell which resources are used in a course. I am taking CM102 Invitation To Biblical Preaching 1. I don't have the book Choosing To Preach.  I want to know how often it is used in the course and what other resources that I do not own so I can decide which ones to purchase.  Thank you for you help.

Follow the associated Faithlife group at https://faithlife.com/cm102

Then in the Bible Study: Logos Documents section you will see, among other things, a file called CM102 Resources Linked

That should give you what you are looking for.

In addition to Graham's great advice, you could look at the start page of the course in the courses tool. This gives the information you can see in the spreadsheet of the course's group directly in Logos. It's not sorted by frequency, but shows with lock symbols immediately which resources you are lacking in your library and how often those resources are suggested as additional reading:

The one you asked about: four times.

EDIT: This is not to belittle the spreadsheets. Actually I was not aware that I owned this specific course at all (must have been a real great deal sometime), since I'm not a preacher. And most relevantly: the courses tool works only for courses you already own, whereas the spreadsheet allows people to consider how much of the suggested reading material of a new course they already own, which may factor in the decision to buy a course in the firstplace.

Thank you for asking this question because I've wondered the same thing. The other two posts have helped me find some information but I think that these lists need some attention from Logos. When I downloaded the BI100 spreadsheet from the group, it did not match my BI100 Plan Details in the courseware. The spreadsheet included sections of Required and See Also, while the Plan Details lumped everything together but had the ownership info I wanted.

My bottom line is that I think that Logos should validate, standardize, and publish this information for all courses on the course sales page in the same way they indicate owned items for packages or most other grouped sets of resources. I shouldn't have to buy a course and then see that I need a hundred or more dollars of books, especially if they really are required. I'd even like some courses to include book bundles (100 and 200 level courses for instance) or maybe have a course-only price and a dynamically-priced course+books price.

You can check out all the resources a course links to before you buy it by checking the spreadsheet on each course's individual Faithlife page. We don’t necessarily intend for people to purchase all the resources linked to in a course. They aren’t “required” parts of the course, but are meant to provide a way for people to dig deeper into a specific topic while also being exposed to a variety of useful resources in Logos (some they may own; some they may not). We provide links to a fairly broad range of resources but try to prioritize resources that are or have been in base packages. Customers who have a large Logos library will likely be able to take advantage of more of the suggestion readings in the Explore sections, but customers who don't own any other Logos resources will still be able to take full advantage of the video lecture material and quizzes.

Ok, so I am looking at a course, and found the Faithlife group, then followed to download the Resource list.  It is an Excel sheet, but how do I search a resource from this list?  For example, in course BI190, under the "See Also" section, the second resource is Matthew (TTCS61MT).  When I search this at Logos.com, it cant find anything.  I dont know what "TTCS61MT" means.

in course BI190, under the "See Also" section, the second resource is Matthew (TTCS61MT).  When I search this at Logos.com, it cant find anything.  I dont know what "TTCS61MT" means.

It's the Logos-ID for the resource - you can simply type or copy open ttcs61mt into the Logos command box and it will open the resource (if you own it). "Matthew" is the title of the resource - which it may share with dozens of commentaries on Matthew, thus to clearly identify which book is meant, they give the Logos ID: It's J. Browns commentary on Matthew in the Teach the Text series.

If you look closely, these IDs often 'speak' - monographs may be the consonant characters of the full title, sometimes including the consonants of the author's name. eBooks are the ISBN. Commentary series will refer to the series and then the bible book: TTCS stands for Teach the Text Commentary Series and 61MT stands for Matthew (even redundant: the book of Matthew is #61 in Logos' counting of the biblical books).
