The bright future of Logos Mobile Ed is here?

I am so thankful and impressed by the quality and depth of the mobile courses.

I am working on a certificate for pastoral counseling and I want to say that it is really high quality. Compared to the cost of a 3 credit course in many seminaries, Logos courses are not that far off, or sometimes more expensive.

Pandemic has changed many educational institutions. In a post-pandemic era, the chances are really high that "logos course" model will remain in demand.

I wonder if Logos will ever consider to be accredited or become a "seminary" etc.
What is the future of Logos mobile ed? Any plans besides expansion of more course offering.

I was planning on doctorate program a few years ago but the cost of flying, and hotels on top of tuition is just too much. But since pandemic, many many many programs just moved online.

I think Logos has an edge when it comes to quality. I just wish they offered some sort accredited degrees.

In the past FL has Indicated they are not interested in all the extra work that would be required of them to be able to offer accreditation. They are a technology company not an educational institution. And to be honest I wouldn’t want them to stretch themselves into an area beyond their expertise.

Speaking hypothetically if they did offer accreditation I would expect extra costs beyond what we pay for courses now.

Partnering with institutions like Redemption i think is the more likely path forward. Whether the more well known institutions though are willing to go down this path I don’t know.

I was thinking about that too since at the end of the day they are focused technology and software development. I was reading the standards of accreditation and tbh, it's just too much extra headache and regulations, and reviews and board meetings and you name it haha.

From a business standpoint, it's just not worth it. Perhaps more schools might partner with them in the future. A lot of their courses are really good if not better than some online courses I took in seminary years ago.

So it seems like it's just adding more courses in the future? Maybe they can expand to the Chinese audience more? Some course in from Chinese professors? They might need hire someone for that just for communications. There might be a market for that. I wonder what the demand is. A lot of my Chinese pastor friends said that they don't use logos as much because there are that many Chinese literature/content on it.

Also, I forgot to mention the competitive nature or the need of the "seminary business."Christian post-secondary education is very expensive in general.

I think it was last year I read an report that many seminaries in North America will close due to demand and cost. I forgot the number predicted in 10 years but it was quite high. If I remember it correctly, close to 50%? Any in the forums can speak to this?

It would be a good thing to see Chinese language courses or at the very least Chinese professors teaching courses, and other languages and professors of other nationalities too.

I think if cover Logos English, Spanish and Chinese...a lot of people can be reached already e.g. The Spanish dub is pretty good!

So we just need some Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) dub than VOILA!!! Still, if LOGOS can get some Chinese profs that would be awesome. A lot of Hong Kong theologians seems to be retiring and moving away lately. Maybe there is a chance there.

As it stands, most of the courses are in English of-course. Afrikaans is pretty fun too. Since I am a Dutch speaker, I actually understand Afrikaans too.
