Can we delete the interlinears?
I would like to delete the interlinears from my to computers for the remainder of the Beta testing program. I do not use the interlinears at all, so I am of no use in testing their functionality. While it appears that the only NRSV in my library is no an interlinear and this is my preferred study bible, I would be very much like to also delete this resource.
Deleting the interlinears would save on downloading when they are modified. It would definitely save time on the indexing. One of them took 1hr and 43 minutes to index on my netbook for Beta 2. I would be very happy to reduce the indexing time by 4 to 6 hours.

You don't have NRSV Reverse Interlinear NT but have the English NRSV bible and want to delete that?

Dave, not sure how the "no" got into my post....
What I tried to say was, "It appears that the only NRSV in my library is an interlinear. Even though this is my preferred study bible, because it is an interlinear and takes a very very long time to index, I would like at this point to delete this resource."

Some of these books would fit very nicely together in their own separate index with a few others, I'm sure.

They are, of course, the times of your machine. One of them, and I can't remember which, took well over 1 1/2 hours to index on my netbook both times. I estimate up to 4 hours of my 17 hours of indexing is spent on these resources.

That's why i included mundane bibles like AV1873 (Cambridge) and TNIV to compare the difference with the Reverse Interlinears. It also shows that you should consider keeping the NRSV!
I'll throw out the LogosLXX!
Next time you Index, keep the Indexer log. Find the word "Indexed" throughout because the time is just above it eg

ok, thanks Dave. I didn't know how to work out the name of a book based on the numeric code... That's easy.

i used to know the key sequence in v3 My Library to get this for any resource - OTHERS MAY KNOW!
But NRSV is 1.0.50
ESV = 1.0.710, NASB95 = 1.0.71, NKJV = 1.0.30.

i used to know the key sequence in v3 My Library to get this for any resource - OTHERS MAY KNOW!
But NRSV is 1.0.50

Just so everyone knows, since Beta 2, if it recognizes that you are missing a resource, it will redownload it and in the task bar you will see the Logos blue icon, right-clicking on it will ask "Install Update" or "hide Icon". So instalilng the update is actualy reinstalling the resource you moved/erased, which means re-indexing. I suppose one could continuously hide the icon, but how will you know if beta 3 comes out? Oh and removing a resource will cause the indexer to re-index...

I'm heading to bed on the other side of the world.Won't be able to give you any feedback on the notebook as I've been using it all day - so the indexing is taking forever.
The netbook is working away - 2368 resources indexed in 10hrs 42mins. I'm sure that's a little bit faster but not enough to make me oooh or aaah!

My laptop reports: Library indexing completed in 04:10:37.2566217.
My desktop reports: Library indexing completed in 06:11:22.7348621.
The time differential leads me to conclude that indexing does not know what to do with multicore systems. Seems like a good place to consider further improvements.

Ok... Overnight my netbook finally completed indexing. The whole process took 15hrs 36 minutes... this is a definite improvement on the time it took in this thread (http://community.logos.com/forums/p/964/8801.aspx#8801) of 19 hours 23 minutes. This time the indexing proper took 12 hours 32 minutes compared to a previous 15 hours (or so). I have also added an extra 100 or so resources (but this were pretty quick ones like the Christian History magazine).
I did note that LogosLXX took 42 minutes, 46.30.25 took 1hr 40 minutes, 1.0.15 took 35 minutes.
My notebook to a seemingly interminable 18 hours and 2 minutes because I was using it for other things. The indexing proper took 15 hours 37 minutes. So, because I had to use my computer, the whole process took and extra 6 1/2 hours even with faster indexing of interlinears.

I don't know the AMD chips very well; is your system true dual core, or the equivalent of Intel's HyperThreading? On a real dual core system, you should see the first phase of indexing (the part where it's counting down the resources) run almost exactly twice as fast. (On quad core, it's 3.5x to 3.8x faster; there's some overhead for thread synchronization.)
Do you have the same resource counts on both systems?

In fact the resource count on the laptop is less than 1/4 that of the desktop. There's the answer.

As this thread indicates that L4 is supposed to download all the resources for you, I'm a bit surprised that it is not doing so on my laptop as of β3.

In Version 3, Open MyLib , In the Find field - eg. enter ESV
In the list of ESV related item Hold on to Alt+Ctrl+Shft and Mouse click on the resource, you get your Resource name.

Subjectively felt dramatically faster having just reindexed after prepub delivery; took ~1hr on each of my machines...
