JW McGarvey: A Treatise on the Eldership
Comments

Calvin, Thanks for putting out restoration material. I worked on this particular file a bit and polished it up. Hope to keep seeing things like this!
- Reformatted Title page (to look like the original)
- Added TOC (as in the print text)
-Fixed page numbers (mine weren't compiling)
-Changed Headings (back to original format and look)
- Added missing text (almost all the Bible hyperlinks were missing, and some text around it as well)
-Removed broken hyperlinks (at the end under "About Electronic Version" - they did not work properly)
-Added book cover (from a reprint edition)
-Included a .txt file with Library info ready to copy and paste for easier book building
Thanks again for all the work!8420.A Treatise on the Eldership.zip

Thanks for cleaning it up. I'm anxious to check it out.

I can't figure it out. There are still quite a few page numbers in your docx that don't compile and also a bunch of scripture tags. I've played around (deleting spaces & changing caps to small letters) to no avail. Maybe somebody smarter than me can figure out why neither of our docx compile exactly right.
Ideas anyone?

FYI: I also saved it as an rtf and then reopened and resaved it as a new docx. (Per the wiki). To no avail. Just so if someone else thinks to try that...it didn't work for me.)

Maybe it has to do with the version of Word you are using??!! I'm usint g Word 2007 - - I don't know if that makes a differences or not (theoretically it shouldn't). Mine compiled perfectly there are no "[[" when I search (ctrl + f) the L4 compiled source.
Has your L4 installed the update from yesterday yet? It updates L4 to "4.3 SR-5" - listed on the update is:
"Fixed bug that caused syntax, such as milestones and fields, to not be
converted correctly by the tool and appear as typed in the compiled
book."That should help, although I have a different .docx files I have where 90% or so of the milestones compiled (before 0% compiled - no matter what I did), but there are still several that will not (and they are formatted exactly the same (I used a search and replace function and did it all at once).
So, the "BUG" isn't really fixed then. Not 100% at least.
The other option (besides the saving to .rtf and back - which has never worked for me) is to select/highlight the line, or paragraph(s) that have the milestones that won't compile and then click "clear formatting" in the "fonts" section (see below - top right white button):
The font will change . . . to Calabri 11 (I think), then immediately change the font back manually (NOT ctrl + z). This should fix the problem (Every once in a while though it has not, but only on a .docx that I couldn't get anything to work!!)
Let me know if that worked

I do not see any uncompiled tags, I am using Logos 4.5 SR-5 and Word 2010.
I do see in Chapter 13, around pg 67, two links that go to unknown resources - "Epistle of Polycarp to the Philippians", and "writer says to the Corinthians". I imagine I have the referenced resources (I have Polycarp's epistle in other resources), are these references to other PBs or to what resources?

Sorry about the links to the resources - I realize the source that I linked to was an older copy of the Ante-Nicene fathers in one volume (i.e. LLS:6.50.1026 1980-01-03T00:00:07Z gs_ecf1.lsf) - probably the old E4 resources - thought there is not much info on the information panel on this resource when I open it. Although it was a correct link, I realize that if you do not have the resource it won't work. I've change the links to the most common version of the Ante-Nicene fathers in this attachment.

Thanks Jeremy, and thanks for the resource!

Thanks for the heads up. No, it wasn't Word (I, too, use 2007) but my Logos had not yet updated. (I hadn't closed it in several days...you must have to close it and reopen it to get it to search for an update.) I was unaware that an update had been issued. After reading your note, I closed Logos & reopened it, and it found the update & updated. I recompiled the book & it came out great. Thanks for the solution.

This will come to Logos (in fact it's already in our libraries for those who owned it in WordSearch), even for a very affordable price.
There are a number of McGarvey's book available (see https://www.logos.com/search?filters=author-9001_Author&sortBy=Relevance&limit=60&page=1&ownership=all&geographicAvailability=all ), although a lot is still missing from Calvin's list and worth to be built as PBs.
Have joy in the Lord!

In the "Files" forum under the thread of ....
I have been working on EM Zerr Old and New Tesament books. It is not copyrighted any more and I think is a great addition to commentaries in my studies. He preached over 6,000 sermons and wrote the books of the commentary...
Verse-by-Verse Personal Book(s) on the Pentateuch by E.M. Zerr Mark Johns started the project... and seemed to stop for whatever reason.

Noting that "Jesus and Jonah" in my library is a PB that Calvin shared some time ago in this thread: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/131740.aspx
