Here is a shot of my list of collections so far; and also the syntax to filter the archeology collection.

 

Robert, thank you for the example. I was able to duplicate this on my system. Where do I learn how to construct the syntax for the rules. Your rule of "type:journal title:spade" is something new to me. Please direct me to a resource where I can learn how to construct these query-based searches.

Also, how did you get your list of collections to display on the left side of your screen?

you can find the syntax if you change the  view to a sort of "details" view ala windows folders. Then you right click the title bar which as things like title, author, tag, publisher...etc..those are the "rules" to narrow things down....there is a huge list.

Also, I think that part of the screen shot was from a search....I just either spliced them together as one shot or I did the search drop down while the library was open...

Here is the best way IMHO how to find data for filtering and creating the collections:

Installing from the DVD when smooth.  I missed the fact that the resource indexing would take so long, my bad.  I do not have any workspaces, collections, and no topics in the Passage Guide.  Openning resources is very slow and wish I could search the library by type not name. 

I miss the menu and icons, am having trouble finding things.  Passage Guide shows fewer commentaries for a Scripture passage than does v3.

I love the drop and drag windows.  Biblical Places looks real nice. I just figured out how to create collections; cool.  Now how do I get the topics to show up in the Passage Guide?

Installed the DVD on my new MSI WInd U123 with 2Gig Ram and Windows XP SP3, fully patched...   I let it run overnight for indexing, and it really did use the 8 gig of free disk space recommended by Logos...   Seems to run ok at 1024x600, but I recommend using a freeware like DownScaling Switcher so you can see 1024x768 without panning the screen...   The new interface is much cleaner, but not always intuative...  I assume the ability to add/delete choices to the Home Screen is coming in a future version?   I found that some setting such as changing default Bible did not seem to take until I closed Libronix cleanly and rebooted...

I really like the handouts generator...

I will keep playing with it, but as a Precepts student, really miss the ability to do markups of texts (for inductive studies)...

The MSI Wind is a Netbook, which is one of the very small notebooks that have become popular of late...   It's built in screen has a maximum resolution of 1024x600, which is slightly smaller then the standard 1024x768...   The screen will "pan" (litterally move) so you can see greater resolutions, but I find that annoying...   It seems that you can't resize text holding CONTROL and using the mouse wheel in this version of the Beta, as you can in IE for instance...  Instead, I use a program that stretches/squishes the screen to simulate 1024x768, giving me more vertical space...   This isn't for everyone, as it can make some text slightly blury, but it works for me...  (I have also told my Windows START bar to auto-hide, giving me just a little more vertical space...)

The Netbook can display extremely good resolutions on an external monitor or projector, so I would it when teaching Libronix 3 classes and such, without having to lug a heavy system.   It also works well for studies during the lunch hour...

Just wanted to report that my installation of the DVD Beta 1 went great with no hiccups. I also upgraded an installation of Logo 3.0 to 4.0 via download on Windows 7, and everything looks great there too.
