Can you upgrade without buying features or books?

Thanks for the reply. Gonna think long and hard about $575 for that feature. 

i bought the full feature set for 168.   I suppose that is because of dynamic pricing.  I did not want any more books.

I am just the opposite.  I do not want any more features.

I guess I am very blessed to be an old grouchy man.  I am not interested in new features in my Bible software.  I have been an avid Logos customer since 1991 or 1992 - almost from the start of Logos.  It has been a long time since new features motivated me to purchase upgrades.  It has always been the books that made the upgrades worthwhile for me.  I do not have as gigantic a library as some, but I do have over 9,200 Logos resources.  So, it is understandable that the packages do not excite me as they once did.  My library has grown over the decades until I pretty much have the top commentaries sets, language tools, and resources that I need.  I see very few resources in the upgrade packages that appeal me. 

There are books that would excite me to upgrade my Logos package. If one of the packages included Craig Keener's four volumes on Acts, that would have caught my interest.  I will probably be purchasing Keener's commentaries rather than upgrading to a Logos 10 package.

If Logos added the Bicentennial Edition of John Wesley's Works (Abingdon Press) to its resource library, that would motivate me.  (Yes, I am Methodist).)  If they added the New Cambridge Commentary set, that would appeal to me.  

But for me this is not an upgrade that excites me.  So, I will save some money.

I mainly upgraded to ensure I had full Apple Silicon Support, but I agree I don’t need too many features in my Bible software. I’m overall disappointed in this upgrade, and if I couldn’t have gotten the FFS for less than $100 like I did, it would have been a hard pass for me.

I also have a ton of books and are more targeted in what I buy now.

What I really want is for Logos to close the Wordsearch feature gap: IVS, ZipScript, Lessonmaker, etc. I’ve already phased out Wordsearch since it doesn’t run on my Mac, and having those remaining features would be useful.

On the flip side, I’ve already pre-ordered Accordance 14 since it looks pretty exciting. I was hoping for a little more of that excitement (or more) in L10.

I have tried Accordance before. I guess I am too dense but I cannot understand its paradigm of operation - I can't make sense of how to use it. Nothing works the way I would expect. Logos is much more intuitive for me.

I learned Accordance for my biblical language studies since both of my biblical language professors used Accordance, and I needed to train on the same tools they use. The rest of my seminary professors used Logos or Wordsearch (at the time) I have a large library in both Accordance and Logos, and I’m extensively trained on both. My larger library is with Logos, but I have cross-graded some of my stuff into Accordance.

While I’ve used Logos as my primary Bible study app for years, honestly, I’ve been using Accordance more as primary and Logos for stuff that I can’t get in Accordance. I can whip out Accordance and get to and quickly search the Bible faster than I can even get Logos to open. Accordance also shines on less-than-optimal hardware (I usually have to invest multi-thousands of dollars in a system that runs Logos well). Accordance 3D Atlas and all their media content is fantastic (I wish Logos would bring back their 3D Bible Atlas, but integrated into the new Atlas). I still used Logos Timeline more than Accordance since I was used to it more.

The other biggie for me has been support. Accordance Support has been fantastic. Logos Tech Support has really lagged during all the Faithlife church stuff. The reps seem way overworked and have to get us off the phone quickly so they can handle the influx of stuff. Logos decline in support is one of the main reasons I cancelled all of my Faithlife subscriptions and scaled back on purchases with Logos (another was I needed to scale back on services overall, but some I could have budgeted). I’m hoping with the changes in Faithlife’s strategic direction that less pressure on support reps to focus more on support just for Logos Bible Software becomes a high priority.

Mike.......I took your advice and checked into signing up for FL Connect.  It says it has full features but when I check down the list of features the Draw on screen mobile isn't a feature you get with Connect.  That is one of the features I really wanted, so unless they just forgot to list that feature, I'd have to purchase a package, which I'm not in a position to do.
