Acquired BI390 as part of the Mobile Ed: Sex and Marriage Bundle today but there's no Activities resource. The product page says there should be one for BI390. Any idea why?

This course was produced before we started creating Activities resources for our courses. It has screencast videos instead. We will be updating all older courses to include Activities resources at some point. There are over 100 courses like this one that we will be updating, so we don't have a time frame for this specific course. This is briefly explained in the "Getting the most out of Mobile Ed" section on the product page.

I understand that Miles, but the product page specified an Activities resource so I thought maybe it complete.

We added Activities resource placeholders to all the Mobile Ed courses that didn't have them because it was easier to add them all at once. That way they will then show up automatically when they are produced without any additional steps. Unfortunately, this makes the Activities resource show up among the resources in the "More details about these resources" section which can be confusing. The "Getting the most out of Mobile Ed" section for each course should specify whether an individual course has an Activities yet or not.

i tried finding that, did not see it…although perhaps the page has changed in the last 5 years.

Question: so does this mean there is no recommended reading sections, etc for the course? is it just someone lecturing but no suggestions on related study?

i was looking at PD 171, Biblical Soul Care, in part for its inclusion of attachment theory. If i get that, is it just Prof Clinton lecturing or is there some way i will be encouraged for further study? if this was produced in 2015 but still does not have an activities page, is that likelihood essentially nil to get one?

No. The Activities resources don't contain the suggested reading, they contain retrieving things in Logos (i.e. using Factbook, searches, guides) as well as reflection questions. In older courses there were one or more activities about the usage of Logos contained as chapters - taught by an off-camera Logos employee, much like a help video. This has been replaced by the Activities resource, with the addition of the reflective questions which to some extent is like a small discussion guide. As this old thread shows, the idea was to have them for all courses, so a course would consistently be four files in the library: textbook, video, audio and Activities. Some courses were retrofit to get an Activities resource - not sure if this is still ongoing as I read that the Mobile.Ed team has been disbanded.

The suggested readings always have been and remained part of the original course textbook and should be in every one of them, regardless of whether an Activities resource exists or not. On the other hand, those "Further Reading" and "See Also" suggestions may or may not be helpful in deepening the study. You can always join/follow the course's Faithlife group and have a look at those readings.

Vielen Dank, NB! i do like the idea of reflective questions that may challenge me and/or my blind spots, but having readings is the most important of the two for me.

So are they stopping mobile Eds altogether? That would suck. Is this all about getting back to the core of what Logos is about and scaling back all the Faithlife dreams and plans?
