The above commentary on Romans is based on the College Press module from the e-Sword biblesupport.com
website. This was a very easy one to convert. Thinking about doing all of Paul's Letters and Episltes,
maybe the entire New Testament.

It is a 59-Volume Commentary Series by College Press, as authored by Christian church and Church of Christ Scholars. Some books are thoroughly covered by more than one volume. The .PDF version is available from restoration.org and several other websites. It is a very conservative series. It is no longer in Print. College Press replaced it with their newer NIV Commentary several yrs ago. The old Green Books, know as the old College Press Commentaries(59 vols) is available online on several sites and in several software platforms. IN MY OPINION IT IS BETTER THAN THE NIV COMMENTARY BY COLLEGE PRESS. I own their NIV for the New Testament, but would rather have their Old Green Books for Logos, so decided to create my own. Just the two volumes on Romans and First Corinthians are about 1,200 pages.
The set you are asking about is not a Calvinistic influenced set. It has ties with the American Restoration movement and does not advocate a "Faith only" salvation. Neither does it advocate a "Works Only" salvation. Rather, it supports a "Faith thru Spiritual Obedience" to God's Word. This is expressed in a life of righteousness, or obedience to God's revealed will. This in a sense is the belief system behind these Commentaries you are asking about. I find them to be more in line with the Gospel Advicate NT and/or Burton Coffman Commentaries which are available in the Logos format. These last two commenatries, along with the College Press Commentaries are works from authors from the American Restoration Movement. Most are by members of the churches of Christ(Acapella) and conservative Christian churches. The strength of the old College Press books I would classify alongside the strengths of the Pulpit Commentary and perhaps the works of Adam Clarke, etc...

The Colleges Press Bible Textbooks, are works of David Lipscomb, J.W. McGarvey,
H. Leo Boles, Guy N. Woods, Foy E. Wallace, and others. These scholars
are all associated with the Restoration Movement. For 12 years I was privileged to preach
From the same pulpit which was previously occupied by J.W. McGarvey. A small church of Christ
Near Lexington, KY established in 1842. The only one of these that I knew personally was Guy N. Woods.
Woods wrote a great commentary on James which I have in my library.

Here is the College Press Commentary on the Book of Romans:
Hi Mark,
this reminded me of the early pages of the E.M. Zerr-Thread back in 2020.
I just took some few minutes to put in milestones into the Romans Commentary. This will put a bible index into the commentary (just as the Logos-produced bibles and commentaries have) and thus will allow positioning on the treatment of a verse or section and automatic scrolling to the same location of linked resources. I'm still not a master of regular expressions, so it just was copy, paste and typing - and one heading level correction - not really hard work, but I believe this really is needed to make a commentary useful in Logos.

(I also think that having several books side by side (in a link set or a multiview panel) scrolling automatically is more valuable than putting together one large sequential book containing a number of other books. At least that's how I roll. But everybody shares the PBs they like to make, so please don't see this as criticism)

Appreciate your comments about First Corinthians by Butler and Applebury.
Believe from what I can determine that the same is pretty much similar in the Second Corinthians commentary.
For those who might be interested in Comparing the College Press (Logos Versons) of the old Green Books
that I have posted thus far, consider the following PDF Versions. I haven't posted the LOGOS Version for
Second Corinthians yet. Church was yesterday, so didn't get to work on it, but will try to get it posted by
Friday (5/10/2024) if not before. These PDF Versions are from the restoationlibrary.org website. I am sharing these
links because they seem to be better than the ones available for download from the College Press website.The Copyright for Romans is 1959 (I am assuming that is the original. Will probably re-edit the Logos version
to display this information for a more appropriate Title Page.
The Copyright for 1st and 2nd Corinthians is 1963/1985 and 1988 reespectively, although I am finding that in
the 2nd Corinthians commentary there are Comments by Applebury too. Just like in the 1st Corinthians commentary.
Doesn't really matter in the long run, since they are free to distribute. Just feel that the proper Copyright information
should still be provided. Haven't checked the Romans PDF file yet but will make the necessary changes, or better
yet, since you have already made the Milestone changes, you might want to do that on your end. Perhaps I can
try and post a small .docx file that contains the information for Romans, then you can insert it at the beginning of

Here is the updated ROMANS by Don DeWelt (College Press Old Green Book)
This is the version that you just inserted the Milestones for. It doesn't have the Milestones,
but what I did was change the Front Page/Title page at the beginning with a graphic and
proper Copyright information. Nothing else was changed, so you might want to copy and
paste into your Milestones version of Romans. You don't have to I suppose. Just wanted
to make the beginning of Romans look more like First and Second Corinthians.

Just beginning to work on the 3rd and 4th chapters of Second Corinthians now.
2nd Corinthians has 162 pages thru Chapter Three. Approx. 240 pages thru Chapter Four.
Looks like about 330-335 pages for Chapter Five and Well over 400 pages thru Chapter Six.
It is now lunchtime here, so will finish chapter 6-8 after lunch.
I have noticed on the restorationlibrary.org website that there are Two(2) College Press
Commentaries for Second Corinthians. One is by Paul T. Butler and the other by Applebury.
The copy I am working with is for the e-Sword version, so I think that whoever created it simply
combined the two in one. Have noticed some questions missing from Chapter Five. Gonna
have to look at the two different PDF's that I already have and see where they are. This might
slow me up a bit.

Needs some help with this.
The Second Corinthians PBB Book (College Press)
I have no problems building this book, but after finishing Chapter Five
I had "2 errors" and "1085 Warnings" -- OUCH!!
I am attaching the log file where there are a straight 1,000 lines of
the same error message. Tried to find the solution on the forum and all
I could find is the suggestion of click on the 'Review Tab' in word and making
sure that the language 'X' is "English" Well, it is. Now, I have the Filenames
for Romans, 1st Corinthians, and 2nd Corinthians listed in the Personal Book
Utility. These errors didn't pop up until I completed Chapter Five of 2nd Corinthians.
So, I am also sending what I have done for 2nd Corinthians in case someone can
explain, Correct this mess. The book works just fine in Logos. It just bugs me to
have 1,085 errors. SO HERE ARE THE FILES BELOW WITH THE LOG FILE FIRST:
