Great idea. And this philosophy needs to remain throughout the Logos program. We should be able to customize the software within reason to work for us.0

This is especially important for people who teach others to use Logos. Everyone in the class needs to have the same toolbar, regardless of whether they're subscribing or using a legacy or free version.0

@Paul Gibson Agreed! As someone who has done many trainings and "Sales Pitch Seminars" - without a choice, I won't be doing any again.

I really, really, dislike the new toolbar. It makes the app far less useful and I am rethinking my subscription at the moment if this is what the "upgrades" will be like0

@Justin Smith same... As outspoken as I was in regards to Subscription Only, I was willing to give Logos a one time chance to impress me after the LFL and Android Sermon feature were announced. The toolbar is enough to keep me from doing so.

After continued use my conclusion has not changed , the new dynamic toolbar is cumbersome , distracting , and unproductive. It requires the user to make multiple clicks for common tasks that previously took one click. That is not an improvement.
For example: The Interlinear Bible used to be accessible with one click , and turning it off was just as easy - one click. Now , it takes EIGHT clicks to turn it on / off and return to the home tab . EIGHT clicks compared to two! Since pastors use the Interlinear Bible numerous times on numerous passages - this is crazy!
Here's another example: To turn on the VISUAL FILTER TAG use to be one click on, one click off. - Now it takes 8 clicks to do the same thing!Plus the user must remember to go to: FORMATTING/EMPHASIZE/SHOW VISUAL EMPHASIS - just to use this feature. This is not easier. Logos has gone BACKWARDS on this new Dynamic Toolbar . Please let us use the old toolbar.0 -
The new toolbar stinks. I cannot stand it. It takes multiple clicks to do what use to be easy. Adding a toolbar choice is a great solution (or just return to the original toolbar).0

I personally like the new Resource Toolbar but it took me 4 or 5 days to get acquainted. There are other panels that still have the old panel menu options such as changing the size of text and link sets -- STILL no Follow-Only link set option as available on the mobile app :( As a result, it is a little confusing when using features like the Factbook that still uses the old Panel menu with text size and link sets. Inconsistency creates confusion.
Please don't hate me when I say that while I understand that folks would prefer choices, doing so can result in a testing and maintenance nightmare. I did read some of your comments and I do sympathize with your concerns but give it a try for a week or two and if you still hate it then post another request.
Logos has so many ways to do the same thing, which I do appreciate but to some extent. I think given a few days with the new Resource Toolbar 99% of folks will realize the new toolbar is a huge WIN! For instance, I never could scroll through all the options in the old Visual Filter menu before, but now things are well organized and it also scales well on smaller screens too so that only the icons are displayed.
One thing I do miss (and I hope they make a change here) is being able to see if a Bible has an interlinear option without going into the menus. It was indeed a one-click option to turn it on/off but now it requires digging into a menu. I hope they will fix that.
For now, I use Ctrl-Shift-R, but it only turns Interlinear feature ON (and toggles the bottom pane ON/OFF) but doesn't turn off the Interlinear feature :(1 -
@Saay Many of us have given significant time trying the Dynamic Toolbar, whether on the Web App or with the Desktop Betas or both.... As for testing and maintenance nightmare - both are being maintained, as the Dynamic is subscription only.
While you may consider it a huge win - claiming 99% will agree is a excessive estimate,
Not sure what you mean about not being able to scroll through the Visual Filter menu - I click once and can scroll the entirety of the Visual Filter Menu on the Classic Toolbar.
With the classic toolbar, I have never had issue with screen size limiting my access to menus and that includes my intensive layouts with a dozen resources opened, linked and the Passage Guide, Power Lookup and Bible Word Study all linked as well...
Going from one click on and one click off to four on and four off is not an improvement. Nor should users have to now be forced into keyboard shortcuts to "fix" the efficiency issues created by development decisions...
Logos seems to be more intent on look than function with this toolbar and on some pages of the website.... Looking nice but adding inefficiency to your users experience is not a good decision.....Logos 10 - OpenSuse Tumbleweed, Windows 11, Android 16 & Android 14

I actively dislike the new resource toolbar. It is really a menu system, more than a toolbar. It is slower to execute common tasks. If they keep it, I would like the option to change the space filling text categories with icons to save screen space.0

The new dynamic tool bar is not good. I dislike it very much. Not because you force us to click more, but because WHEN FOLLOWING ALONG WITH TRAINING VIDEOS, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT.
Imagine paying $50 USD/month or $250 out right for training videos on your ONLY authorized training website MPseminars and you cant even follow along with old videos for refreshers. ITs bad enough you have changed this in the past practically every Logos version (6.7.8..)

Unfortunately, by the measure of whether or not the user discovered the features spread across the resource toolbar and the panel menu, the old toolbar was broken. Yes, it takes a while for the training to catch up with the software which can create a real teaching mess as one professor in the forums has illustrator. But to keep the two as options, simply lengthens the time for which the confusion exists. Logos is addressing many of the concerns regarding the new toolbar. I'm taking a wait and see if all of them are satisfactorily addressed.
Have you been with Logos long enough to remember when they switched the left and right sides of the context Menu? This reminds me a bit of that.

by context menu do you mean the right click menu? yes, I was so confused watching the training videos from MP back then as well. I have been with logos since Logos 6 I believe is when I found out about it. way back when we had the "Go" bar.
