Attention Church of England Anglicans: 2024-25 Almanac and Lectionary Personal Book
I've taken some freely available data and created a Word document to help you build your own 2024-25 Church of England Almanac and Lectionary personal book.
This year, I've enhanced the table of contents and made some formatting tweaks to make the book even more user-friendly. If someone wants to turn this into a complete lectionary file, go for it! You could also tag saints and church days to Logos resources, but unfortunately, I am running short on time.
Next year, I might tackle adding more features, but for now, it is handy for incorporating the C of E rhythms into your Logos devotional and study workflows.
All you need do is download the file and optional logo, and build it. Enjoy!

I've been working using the free version of Claude/GPT to make a script that uses the Find and Replace feature within Word to automatically add date milestones to resources just like this, it gets really close, but I can't get it to work 100%. I eventually get frustrated and leave it be for a while. I don't have any coding experience, I'm sure someone with some experience would be able to figure out what the problem is. I work on it every so often on my downtime and I'm hopeful one day I'll get it to work.
I've also tried one that will automatically add the TOC formatting to a docx file of my friend's manuscripts and notes which I'd love to have as a PB but I just don't have the time to do the formatting manually. The irony is, with how much time I've spent going back and forth with GPT and Claude trying to get them to revise the code, I probably could have done it manually at this point, but such is life.

Very cool! While I am not part of the Church of England - as with other Lectionary releases - it is nice to use to see how others worship and set their schedules.

The data file that I download for this is in CSV format. There is a fair bit of work that I go through to format it into a decent looking Word document. I have wonderd about putting it more into a proper Logos lectionary format or even a reading plan, but by the time I get the basics done and add a few refinements, I start to peel out on how much time I could or should put into it. Every year I do this, I am adding a bit more to it, and I am faster, but it is still a lot of work at 190+ pages.
Every project like this has a tipping point. How much time should I spend on projects like this and engaging in the community (which I really enjoy), versus doing actual research and study work. This is why I have to avoid the beta programme in this season of life. There are only so many hours of the day and so I engage occasionally on a major beta feature like the recent overhaul of the inline search and L4 links, but need to rely on others who can be more active. My main focus is to contribute a few things like this to the community and then also maybe answer the odd question here and there…

I miss the old quoting feature where I was able to easily separate the part of your comment that I wanted to quote.
I understand completely on the “peel out on the time it takes” I’m in the same boat.I’d be more than happy to share what GPT/Claude has put together. I’m still working on fine tuning it, I was actually going to reach out to some people on Fiverr to help me finish it.
My hope is to be able to create some resources that take advantage of auto-tagging. In my case this is almost always just automatically tagging the date and adding a date milestone, but I’m sure the concept would work in other areas like verse milestones. I have my theories on why, and they all lead me to conclude that we won't see any change in this any time soon. The C of E is a bit on its own island when it comes to this sort of stuff.
That said, finding this data to download means that a lot of the Logos lectionary experience can be created in a PB. If we find ourselves in the same position next year, time permitting, I will add some more bells and whistles.
