Topic: Enhanced Collection Navigation and Search Functionality
Suggestion: I would like to request the addition of a dedicated “Purchased Collections” tab in Logos Bible Software, with enhanced browsing and search functionality for better resource organization and usability.
1. Feature Overview: Introduce a separate section in the Logos Library or main menu titled “Collections” or “Purchased Sets” that allows users to:
- View all purchased series, bundles, or curated collections (e.g., BioLogos Books on Science and Christianity (6 vols.)).
- Browse these collections as distinct, organized groups instead of only as individual titles.
- Visually see the cover imagine on the Logos Marketplace
2. Detailed Functional Requests
- Collection View: A tab or filter where each purchased collection (e.g., Zondervan Exegetical Commentary, Pillar NT Commentary, BioLogos set) is visually and functionally grouped, similar to how base packages appear.
- Search Within Collection: When viewing a collection, include an option to:
- Search only within the volumes in that set.
- Use filters or tags to limit queries to that specific collection.
- Persistent Organization: Collections should persist in their grouped form even if individual books are accessed separately through the library or search bar.
- Missing from Collection: Also include perhaps a greyed out section where missing resources that are available to purchase are shown as well as resources available for pre-publication pre-order and also resources available in print but not yet in development for Logos.
3. Use Case Examples
When I purchase a set like BioLogos Books on Science and Christianity (6 vols.), I’d like to:
- Access it as a full set from a single tab.
- Browse and open volumes in order.
- Search for topics (e.g., “evolution” or “creation”) only within that 6-volume set.
4. Why It Matters
This will:
- Improve workflow for users who study by series or curated sets.
- Reduce friction when navigating large libraries.
- Enhance the value of multi-volume collections by making them more accessible and searchable as intended by the publisher.
Thank you for considering this enhancement. I believe this feature would serve pastors, students, and scholars who invest in multi-volume resources and seek to use them more efficiently within Logos.
