What's Missing... When you'll see it overview thread
Based on the feedback here, we've decided to create a "what's missing, when you'll see it" web page that will be part of the 4.0 release announcement.
I think it's a good idea to start something like this for ourselves since we're starting to ask the same questions. (If this works it would be a great STICKY thread).
Rules of this thread:
- One issue per post.
- Three simple lines a double space and any necessary explanation
- Please update your posts as you see things fixed ( if you can)
- Please reserve comments on a given feature for the linked thread about that feature, not here. Makes it easier to read.
Format of the posts:
- Missing Feature: brief description
- Forum thread where it is discussed (link)
- When we should expect to see it (e.g. upcoming beta/ Specific beta (β6) / L4 gold / 4.0aish / never)
- (if necessary) any overview information.

Personal Book Builder (PBB) support
Discussed in: Logos 4 Philosophy
When: After 4.0:
"We ABSOLUTELY intend to support both PBB and SermonFile in a future
release. The problem is that PBB in particular uses Internet Explorer
for its format and for display. And you've all made it clear how you
felt about our reliance on IE, :-), so we need to do some serious work
to re-do PBB." - Bob Pritchett

What I am trying to do is color all verbs that are imperative Green.
Here are the steps I followed.

Choose Bible (ESV, NASB)
Chose Morphology (I tried all the Greek ones)
Verb with green highlighting
Nothing is colored. Here is a picture of 3.0

Hi John.
Seems to work for me. Graphic below. You might need to click the graphic to get a bigger version to see the green. Also, you may need to click the interlocking-ring thingie to make sure you select the proper visual filter(s) to display.

My books in print
1. Copy multiple verses with Copy Bible Verses
We've taken a giant step backwards --
In one move, I need to be able list several verses, either within the same book and chapter, or from multiple books and chapters:
e.g., we need to be able to request something like this from the Lectionary
and we need to be able to request:
John 3:1-18; Rom 3:23, 6:23; Rev 7.1-3
Right now, anything past the first chapter and verse is truncated forcing me to keep going back and making subsequent requests to get everything I need.

Copy multiple verses with Copy Bible Verses
Dale, I believe this is being considered already, if not being actively worked on. At least I hope so. I also hope that we can get some sort of ability to insert verses via macro into WordPerfect (still using your macros with L3 from time to time -- thanks, BTW), but that is probably a long way off.

Hi Rich,
While I'm anxious to have the automation ability in WPWin with L4, I can wait awhile.
However, comma, IMHO -- the way the CBV feature is implemented in L4 (right now), I'd have to say that it's broke. It's not just a limitation, but it's simply not working (correctly). And, we know the Logos know how to do this because it's so well implemented in L3. We just need to port that good code into L4 and repair what got broke when they started fresh. Just my two cents worth
Blessings
Dale
P.S. Thanks for the kind words for the macros -- they do make life easier.
Blessings,

Missing Feature: Lectionary "Today" button and "approximation" date feature
Forum: Features
There is *STILL* no feature in the lectionary to bring the user back to today or the current day's view. There is still no feature to allow me to type December 1, 2009 and get taken to the closest date to that in the lectionary cycle. Both features of the lectionary are necessary. Both are functional in L3f. Both are missing from L4SR4.

Missing Feature: There is no setting for "Bible Text ONLY"
Forum: Seems like I commented on this early on in the features section
Let me elaborate: In L3f (and most previous versions of the LDLS) we could click the "view" button on the menu and choose Bible Text Only. This got rid of spurious editorial comments from the publisher (which I may or may not agree with). There's a BIBLE setting option in the tools section of L4, but the only option so far is to have the words of Jesus in Red or not. Just as I like to turn that off, I want to see my Bible text without someone editorializing and interfering with the flow of the text.

Dale Durnell
