The very first time I heard about Wave, and had it fully explained as best as one could explain Google Wave, all I could think about was collaboration between students, linguistic geeks like myself and the like. I imagine once it is fully released you'll eventually find a Seminary or so using it for correspondence and even home work for the "on campus" students. I am very, very interested to know whats up! I have somebody who has "nominated" me and I also have the standard request put forth, but as of yet I haven't heard anything.
If you want more information about GW, you need to check out TWIG (This Week in Google). http://twit.tv./twig This is a fantastic podcast that is based on "everything Google and everything cloud." The past four or so episodes the hosts have received their invites, interviewed a couple Google employees and a couple former Google employees, as well as some "widget" developers for Wave. So, if you want to know what it is, there won't be a better source!

Gina Tripani's new book is FREE and titled "
The Complete Guide to Google Wave
She is also a co-host on TWIG (This Week in Google) with Leo LaPorte and Jeff Jarvis (author of WWGD (What Would Google Do) which I highly recommend.
Now, I am going to make a disclaimer here: This gal is extremely liberal and lives the "alt lifestyle" so you can't say I didn't tell you.

Randy,
Andrew (a few posts above yours) invited you. It may take a while before Google acknowledges the invite.

Would love to get an invite too if anyone has one left. Any progress on the Bible study group?

Invited.
I don't think anyone has started anything yet... or if they have I wasn't invited
I guess it's just a matter of someone showing initiative, as there are already a bunch of us with access now.
i'd love to be invited also.

I just suggested this on a the seminary blog today. The trouble is getting the Wave invites. They are very scarce!
Google Wave is not yet broadly available but you could do much the same thing by setting up a Tiki Wiki site.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
Go on about GoogleWave...
I would like to participate if I get the big Google Wave invite!
I would like to participate in a google wave bible study! Plus, I have 10 or so google wave invites for anyone who needs them. Just send your email to chadwicktucker AT gmail dot com.
I have 7 invites for anyone interested.
Just drop me a line at eruhnow AT gmail dot com for an invite.
