Basic Doctrinal Studies

This is a notebook that accompanied a series of sermons that he taught from 2004 to 2006. This is written & taught from a dispensational perspective. It's a very good study for new believers or those that want to get a crash course in systematic theology type teachings.

Please note that some of the tables do not display properly in Logos, and I'm assuming it's just a limitation of how tables are compiled.

Thank you for posting this. I wonder, however, if you have the necessary copyright permissions to do so? As the creator, he owns the copyright unless he has assigned it to you. I don't see anything like that listed in the document.

He was my pastor when I lived in Texas. He sent me the original Word doc file so that I could make the PB & make it available. It's also freely available in PDF form on the church website.

Hello, LaRosa. I cannot read the words in the sub-circles in the graphic charts for "Dispensation of the Fulness of Times", "Dispensation of Israel", and "Dispensation of Man" when directly opening the MS-Word document even at 200%, so I suspect they will not be readable as a PBB either. Can you redo with more legible charts, please? Thanks much!

I'll see what I can do. That was the quality in the file I was given. I'll ask him if he has the originals, otherwise I'll just remake them in Photoshop.

Is anyone having a problem compiling this file as a PBB? Everytime I try to compile it crashes Logos. I have tried another document and it works just fine.

Are you on 4.5b beta 2? If so it's a bug to be fixed in beta 3. Per Bradley last Friday:

As a workaround, you could compile the books on your stable computer and use the "scan" command to bring them over to 4.5b.
EDIT: **May** be this bug - see if it has any external hyperlinks in the document...

It'll be a few days before I can get the PB updated with the new images. My hard drive died on me last night & have a new drive on order from HP. Thankfully it was still under warranty & I just did a backup a day or two prior.

From what Bradley said those are ok - it's Internet links (to web sites) that are the problem.
You could as test make a copy of the resource, then keep cutting the document in half to narrow down what crashes it. First half last half, then cut the offending half in half, etc. That may prove useful to identify an issue Logos is not aware of!

Hello all.
Now that my computer is fully back up & running, and I've had a moment to breathe, here is the updated Basic Doctrinal Studies personal book with brand new graphics. I went in Photoshop & manually recreated each of the charts, even the cross & 3 circles so that it's cleaner.

One problem I see, the page numbers don't seem quite right. It starts on page 3, and some page numbers are missing. Page 26, 28, 40 are missing for example.
After page 3 there is a blank page.
I might also humbly suggest, as the graphics are very excellent, click on the them and "Center" them on the page. There is a button in Word 2010 on the Home Tab just above the Paragraph section to do this.
