Benjamin Newton Eschatology
Benjamin Wills Newton was a close friend of Darby at one point, and at once was called his prize disciple. Darby, and Newton had some disputes, one mainly on eschatology. Darby believed the church would not have to go through the tribulation, whereas Newton held to the classic post tribulation perspective.
I put together a few of Benjamin Newtons shorter articles concerning eschatology here is what I have so far. It is not perfect there are some scripture references that are not linked, also there are no page numbers.

I am currently working on "thoughts on the apocalypse" which is much lengthier. I will post it under this thread when finished.
I also uploaded Newton on faithlife

I don't know if it will help with what you are doing, but I have a .docx of "Thoughts on the Apocalypse". I did it about a year ago, as I recall I didn't do any endnotes, if there were any.

Edit: Looking at the document, the notes are with the text. You may want to do it differently. I also don't know if this is all the footnotes. At the time I was just interested in the main part of the text.

Yours will be easier to reference then the one I have. I have already started work on it, upload it when finished. What else do you have on eschatology?

I have some other books I have picked up online, however, they are not clearly out of copyright. Rather than deal with the repercussions of violating those laws (or the wrath of the forum police) I haven't posted them. I haven't studied copyright laws, so I try to avoid posting anything published after 1920.Blair Laird said:What else do you have on eschatology?

Do you have anything else from Newton?

Sorry no I don't. I appreciate your work, books from this perspective are not nearly as common as those from the classic dispensational viewpoint.Blair Laird said:Do you have anything else from Newton?

Isa. 30:10 is one possible reason.

How do you find out which books were published without a copyright notice, or which books were unpublished?

Jerry,in the file you gave me, the greek and hebrew text are missing. I have been able to add most of them back, however I am having trouble with a couple pages. I ran it through my ocr software straight from the pdf of the book, and all of the words are still not coming across. I am not aware of how to rewrite to the greek and hebrew on these pages, any idea? The docx file that I uploaded here shows you what my ocr software did with the pdf. I also copied those pages directly over to the docx file as an image so you can see what the original looks like.

No I don't have any idea. I was just wanting the main part of the text and was probably having problems with the right kind of font, so I just deleted the Greek and Hebrew. I was teaching a class on Revelation at the time and was assembling all the texts I could get my hands on. I didn't remember I had done that.

Perhaps you could start a new thread that would be noticed by someone that could help.

Here is what I have so far
3247.THOUGHTS ON THE APOCALYPSE BENJAMIN NEWTON.docx
One note, I tried to fix the greek in chapter 14 under the verse
"And if any man desireth to
hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth and devoureth their enemies"However the paragraph there seems disjoined from that context. I looked the verse up in the greek and was not even able to find the word(s) that Newton was referring to. I am guessing there was an issue with the original printing of the book. Maybe I am just reading it wrong, It is just not making sense. I fixed most of the other greek and hebrew words. I used a tool that logos designed.

Thanks Ken and fgh for posting these sites. Of course one can save these in Logos, but it would be helpful to have them at the top of the files forum as a sticky.
