Because this widely popular classic is available in various forms quite economically, sharing this American Classic as a LOGOS Personal Book makes sense. And the book is abundantly referenced in our personal libraries.
Who wouldn’t be drawn to reading a book that has such a wide range of chapters titles such as "The Chapel", "The Pulpit", and "The Sermon" as well as "The Ramadan" and "The Town Ho’s Story".
As for a book cover, there are hundreds available by searching online – pick your own favorite.
Classic and modern art is also available and may be added to the document if you desire to include them in the PB yourself.

Thank you! Great idea! Haven't read Moby Dick for perhaps 50 years now and think I'd like to peruse it again ...
My problem ............. I would like to put it on my iPad2 ........... How hard is that? I'm a big Logos 5 fan with so much on my desktop that for personal reading, I'd prefer getting away from the desktop to a nice comfie chair in the corner of a quiet room.

You're going to have to use another app. Logos doesn't allow reading PBs on iPad. If you download the Nook or Kindle app, you can find Moby Dick for free as a download on one or the other or both sites.

Nice, and if you get the free kindle version you can get the audible audiobook for $2.99 with whisper sync to go between reading and listening.

I've never downloaded a Kindle resource before. I just now went over to Amazon.ca and found a whole bunch of Moby Dicks, some free and some at .97 and $1.97 and the like. I'm in no hurry, have quite a number of projects on the go (like the rest of you, I'm sure!) so will get around to this when I get around to it.
However, perhaps someone can enlighten me on the reason for so many different prices. Do people put their Kindle books back on the market after they through reading?

While I am not positive, I suspect because ANYONE can put up a Kindle version of an out of copyright work. (As someone who has published a couple of Kindle books--my own books, not out-of-copyright ones-- it is really easy). And everyone can set their own price.
By putting up a Kindle version of an out-of-copyright book you can do two things (depending on your motive:)
1. Make an older work available for people to read today on a more convenient form than their computer screen. Kind of like what we do here at the Logos forums. (Except the Logos formats are much better because they are able to be searched along with many other resources at the same time).
2. Make money off of a resource that you didn't write. (You did format it, but as we know from Logos, that is not always that hard a thing to do--depending on the original we have!!)
I don't know for sure, but I suspect that this is the reason why there are so many Kindle versions and at varying prices.

Some free out-of-copyright Kindle versions are horrible (and abridged!)! Sometimes its worth paying a few dollars to get a copy that is formatted correctly and has extras like annotations.
