2234.The Upanishads.docx
While there are around 200 Upanishads, there are about a 10-12 that are the oldest and most basic texts of Hindu philosophical belief.
The first three are translated with commentary here by one of the first Swamis to evangelize the west for Hinduism: Swami Paramananda.
The first three are
- Isa-("The Inner Rule")
- Katha-("Who Moves the World?")
- Kena-("Death as Teacher").
Note: Some may not feel comfortable having these in their "Bible Software" program, but I teach an eastern religions class and found it useful to put them into Logos for research purposes. They will eventually (I presume) be released in "The Sacred Books of the East" 50-volume set that is in Community Pricing and if that ever goes public, I'll pull these down. (I had already placed my own bid on the set).
