How might this be comparable to the Foundation of Biblical Ministry by Moody?

The Foundation of Biblical Ministry helps me to better understand and use resources within Logos and to develop as a leader.

I am ready for a new challenge.

Maybe this time I will have some help from some Faithlife friends and others who want to be encouraging to each other and to continue on this journey together!

The American Council of Education ACE has decades of experience in accreditation and description of Distance Education Courses. These accreditations are reviewed by Deans of Schools. I have participated in Onsite Evaluation Visits at Denomination wide Agencies of the Assembly of  God and the Southern Baptist Convention. I also was on a visiting team at a Roman Catholic Seminary. Parts of our reports dealt with evaluation of credentials, curriculum, appropriate testing and institutional control. We evaluated the suggested credits. When the appropriate reports were made ACE published a data base allowing schools to evaluate credit for degrees at their institution. Teams were multi-disciplinarian and respected the perspective of the initiating schools.

We are avoiding the entire accreditation issue by not being a degree granting institution.

Will this package be updated under the Mobile Ed platform? Would be fun if it was.

I received the following email from the Operations Manager - Long Distance Education.

"You are receiving this email since you are on our system as having used AM Bible Courseware. I regret to inform you that, due to infrastructure changes with Logos Bible Software and the changing focus of Moody Distance Learning, the AM Bible Courseware software will no longer be supporting course completion records. This means that any lessons you complete will no longer be graded and recorded for certification. This change is effective starting on September 1st, 2013.

You are free to continue to use the program for informational and educational purposes, and version 3 or older of Logos Bible Software should continue to integrate with AM for you.

We pray you continue to enjoy AM Bible Courseware, and thank you for your dedication to this product!"

Part of the $800.00 cost was the grading and issue of completion certificates - which now has gone away.

I am in touch with Logos customer service to see If I can receive a $800.00 credit to be applied to the Logos Mobile Education program.

    Keeping my fingers crossed!

It's sad that AM Bible Courseware is being phased out (in the grading part) and that it's mainly being recommended L3 and below. I'm hoping they'll eventually revive it under Mobile Ed.

It is especially sad for those of us who spent $800 on the AM Moody Foundations of Ministry just to have it shut down.

Logos just updated all the AM Moody Courseware to run with Logos 5 in the past year. What a waste.

I too received the same message. I am sad that Logos and Moody can't maintain the functionality. I had considered transferring the AM courseware ($20) over to my son's account as he was looking forward to participating in the program. The website for Moody has no mention of the change. The Logos website has no notation reflecting the change. In fact on the Moody page it still shows: http://mmm.moody.edu/GenMoody/Media/mbi_splashpage/available_certification.htm

When you successfully complete each AM course, you’re able to download a certificate of completion for the appropriate course. These certificates are free of charge. Click here to view an example certificate.

When you successfully complete an AM series, you’re able to download a certificate of completion for the appropriate series free of charge. Or, for $10, Moody Distance Learning Center will color print and mail you a parchment paper certificate. Click here to view an example certificate.

When you complete all four AM series, Moody Distance Learning Center will mail you, free of charge, a Foundation of Biblical Ministry Certificate.

I apologize to anyone who read my review of the AM courseware and made the purchase hoping to complete it after the cutoff date and hoped to obtain the certificates. It took me 3 years to complete it and submitting the grading to Moody was a motivator. (I know it's just paper but it meant something to me.)

I hope Logos will make adjustments for those who maybe would consider going to the Mobile Ed platform.

I was seriously interested in going for AM as well (thankfully I never paid the $800 for it) since it'd sharpen my Biblical training and give me a little extra certification (sure it's not "seminary degree level", but knowing I went through AM, got a solid Moody education, and got some form of certification out of it would have been nice).

What I'd specifically like to see is this upgraded into a Mobile Ed version, then somehow Logos could transition existing AM users to the Mobile Ed version (either free or at a very deep deep discount to make up for the certification cancellation), then allow us newcomers to purchase it on the Mobile Ed platform. That way we could all continue to enjoy AM for years to come.

I don't know what the deal is between Moody and Logos right now, but I hope they resolve it fast. Logos users such as us are some of their largest customers!

I'm getting the feeling it is predominantly Moody's doing. Logos already updated the resource to run in Logos 5 and I doubt they would have done that if they knew it would get deleted.

I would really like to see Moody give us a partial refund. Logos is not denying us anything we paid for. The withdrawal of grading & certification is Moody's doing. That being said I would be very happy if Logos would give us credit towards Logos Mobile Education.

I don't really know what Moody's plans are specifically. I do know that we have an ongoing relationship with Moody which I trust will bear fruit in new products and programs. Moody has demonstrated a strong desire to stay on top of our technology so I would expect to hear more from them in the future.

True on Logos updating the resource. I doubt they would have gone to all the trouble to have it pulled on them.

True about Moody being the one that should issue the partial credit as well. If Logos does it (toward the purchase of Mobile Ed), that would simply be very noble of them and in the spirit of excellent customer service on Logos' part. However, it is true Moody is the one that pulled it, so the credit should stem from Moody.

I'd still like to get in on AM and would even pay $800 for it if updated under Mobile Ed or if certification was brought back. I don't mind paying for quality material, but I don't want to purchase something I feel is going to get phased out.

That's good to know. With Moody pulling their other Logos titles (which I SERIOUSLY want back since I want to purchase some of them!) and now this, I've been a little worried. I hope that Moody will: A-Bring all their resources back to Logos, B-Revise AM under Mobile Ed, and C-Work together with Logos on some new exciting stuff we don't even know about yet.
