Mac OS X - High CPU Usage
Logos 5 will randomly begin utilizing a large percentage of the processor on my MBPr 13" and does not seem to quit unless I Force Quit Logos and then re-open it. This does not appear to be indexing on the part of Logos, because there is no indexing icon in the menu bar.
This is a problem because not only does it use a large percentage of my cpu, but will also increase the temperature dramatically (~95-100C) and drain the battery.
System Specs:
OS X v.10.8.3

As an update to the problem, Logos 5.1a will still randomly utilize a large percentage of CPU (thereby increasing temperature significantly and decreasing battery life) and will not shut down properly without a force quit. I have not noticed the sync arrow animation during these.

This happened to me yesterday (the Logos process went to 500%) and just happened again today. I don't know about yesterday, but today it was locked in a sync cycle. I had to force quit Logos.
I used the Logos Logging Utility to get a sample and archive while Logos was still running, but the Utility froze up also and I had to force quit it. The log sizes are smaller than normal:
0310.SampleLogosLogs.levi.20130905-111317.zip
4786.LogosLogs.levi.20130905-111413.zip
After force-quitting Logos, I archived the logs again:
8741.LogosLogs.levi.20130905-111538.zip
I am on OS 10.8.4 with Logos 5.1a SR-1
I have this problem too. Not really sure if it helps to post in this forum or not; nor where to turn to if this is not the right place. Anyway, I noticed my CPU usage go up to 159% this morning, the fans kicked up, and battery started draining. So I Googled it and came here.
I have a 2013 13-inch MacBook Air, i7, 8 GB/256 GB and running OS 10.8.4.
Running Logos 5.1a SR-1.
When you notice this are the sync arrows moving?
Hi Tommy, yes the sync arrows are active during the high cpu usage. I noticed your other thread after I posted mine. I'll see if I can provide you with what you need.

Often it seems to occur when Logos has been opened for a while and it will happen even when I am not actively using it (though it is opened in the background).

A similar problem was produced after I closed the laptop lid and then woke the computer back up. Only this time the sync arrows were not active and I was able to close Logos without force quitting.
