Can I read Vyrso books in Logos?
Is it possible for me to read a book I purchased from Vyrso in my Logos 4 windows program?

Yes. :-) Next time you start logos it should download and install. Assuming of course that you purchased using the same account as your Logos account.

Wow... seems like Logos should publicize this... there are a few books on there that I'm very interested in that are not "available" in Logos. Fantastic!

Well it is on the front page of Vyrso.com. Bottom left hand of the navigation side; look for "also works on...."

... to Logos users.
It wasn't altogether clearly marketed that Vyrso books are first class citizens in Logos. That you can add them to collections, search them, etc.

And some are only $0.99 [thanks for letting us know - bought two already]
Will someone PLEASE post something about this on the L4 forum with a title of something like 'Vyrso can add books to your Library'
[somebody that knows more than I do about the subject]

I think someone at Logos ought to do a Logos Blog post about Vyrso. Maybe they're working on it and planning a bigger announcement splash when it's no longer in beta.

Hi there,
I'm running Libronix DLS 1.2.2 on my old MAC and can't seem to download a book I read on vyrso on Libronix. I've tried synchronising my licences manually in Libronix but it's not doing anything. I thought I might try download the book while logged into Logos.com but I cannot find the book on logos.com, only on vyrso.
Any thoughts?

It won't work. Libronix uses an older file format, the files end with .lls or some other cryptic names like this, wheras L4 / L5 use a different format, the files end with .logos4 . Logos has for some time produced files in both formats for "real Logos" books, but have in the meantime stopped doing so. Vyrso books, however, were never produced in the old Libronix format.
Have joy in the Lord!

Peace and Every Blessing, Joe! 'Bama's advice is right on! *smile*alabama24 said:Also, you can read your Logos books (mostly all!) and your Vyrso books (all!) at http://bible.faithlife.com/
P.S. Welcome to the Forums! Glad to see you! Also, for your future considerations, when your computer resources are strong enough, you might want to try the absolutely free basic Logos 5 to read your resources. I'm a Windows Guy NOT a MAC Guy like my son, so I don't know what model MAC will handle Logos 5.

Be aware Vyrso books are readable in LOGOS, but they are not indexed to the same extent as a standard LOGOS book. You can read it, but a search might not return the book as an expected result because of the reduced indexing. I do not know the specific differences - perhaps others do.

That isn't accurate. A search will find hits just like any other Logos resource. Vyrso books are brought into the Logos format in an automated fashion... It is "no frills." Scriptures are hyperlinked... but again, it is computer automated and doesn't always work properly. Errors of those kind aren't likely to be fixed.
FWIW - There are three basic "editions" within the Logos ecosystem:
- Logos edition: High quality "value added" ebooks.
- Vyrso edition: No frills eBooks, created via an automated process
- User edition: MSFT Word docs (.docx) files compiled via the "personal book builder." Most of these fall in line with Vyrso edition works, but users can add much time and effort and add some of the frills that Vyrso edition resources lack (i.e. page numbers).

Wow thanks for the prompt and detailed responses guys!
I'm currently downloading Logos 5 to my old 2006 MacBook Pro. Hopefully this works!

What OS are you running?

Snow Leopard 10.6.8. It installed and I must say it's much nicer than Libronix haha. I've been reading and studying on my iPhone and iPad for so long I rarely gave the MAC version of Logos a look-in.
Thanks again to all who helped me out. Much appreciated.
