    Hi Jean-Paul,

Welcome to the forums.  I have found the courses I have had so far very good and helpful.  Whether it is worth it is in a lot of ways a personal question.  If you have already completed formal theological education then you might well not find as much value in them as would someone who has no formal training.  I find the format works well for me - a short 5-10 min video followed by links for two or three readings from resources in your library.  I can come home at night after work and do a segment or two from a course, making a few notes from the readings / videos.  Note full transcripts of videos are included. You probably also have to ask yourself what you are interested in learning about to determine what is an is not of value to you. If you have compleTed formal training then cherry picking courses rather than purchasing a big pack may be better value - but Logos are yet to break-up the initial offering , but some individual courses are available on Pre-Pub such as Moo on Romans.

Note: none of the doctrine courses have been released at this point in time but are due this month I believe.

    Hi Doc,

I really appreciate your reply! I think what's behind my mind is if I'm taking the foundation courses I'll be able to build a good Theological foundation and continuing building on this with some other courses. To be honest I'm afraid that if I'm not taking the Foundation courses that I will miss some key stuff For continuing in further courses!

And how does it work they send you part of the courses since it's not finish building and charge you right away on the first few courses sent, or they'll be charging you when all the courses or sent ???

    Thanks

    JP

    Hi JP,

It was recommended that you have a platinum package so you will be ok with the required/suggested readings.  Even with the recommended package, you still may need to purchase some more books but not that many.    Logos does have payments plan.

Anyone has different experienced with lower than recommended base package?  I just wonder what is the minimum so I could recommend to friends.

JP I haven't seen any of be doctrine courses as yet but I don't think the courses are tightly integrated that if you did not do the foundations courses then you would have problems doing the Romans course as an example.  Depending on how familiar you are with Logos Bible Software the Logos Academic Training Course may be of value.  If you can purchase the foundations bundle though I would recommended it though.  As well as the do trine courses there is a course on Biblical Interpretation, one on how the story of the bible fits together, and a course each on the structure of OT & NT.  What I have looked at of these so far is very useful in building up your basic bible study skills and understanding of the big picture of the scriptures, and the things to look for when studying a passage and the errors to avoid.   So if you have not had training in these things then the foundations bundle I would highly recommend.

In terms of payment, there are two approaches, you can pre-order now and wait till all courses are ready robe shipped, pay the full price and get them all at once,or you can speak to a sales rep and go onto a payment plan in order to spread the payments out over 12 or 18 months and you will get access to all the courses currently released the foundations bundle and get access to the. Other courses as they are released.  If you don't have a regular sales rep then ask to speak to John Ramsey He is always very helpful and looks after me very well.  Mention I recommended you to him.

    Hi Doc,

I'm not an expert with logos software but I'm getting around with all the video an help they provide so I guest I'm not to bad.foundation

And for the foundation course I'll probably go on with it, but I'll wait for a while since I just bought Logos Platinum which was not cheap so I'm thinking taking it in couple of month!

Really appreciate for all of your time and information ....

Thanks and our Loving God bless you!

    Hi JP,

Ensure you place the Pre-pub order.  As long as you did not ask for incremental release, you will only pay (or put on payment plan) when the bundle is finally completed.   The PP has a very good discount.  You wouldn't want to miss the boat if you are interested.  I learned it the hard way with the Baker academic (85) bundle.  It was on for around $1000.

This course now has a release date of 3rd Feb, so if you want it at pre pub prices act now.

Hey everyone, just a heads up—you can add the Bible Doctrines and Foundation bundle to your payment plan at the Pre-Pub price by calling Sales team before February 3!
