OT101 Introducing Old testament: Leviticus
Hi,
i'd like to know if the number of times the word "holy" appears in the old testament, is correct. The video shows errors saying that the number of times (152) that word appears in the Old Testament, is the same on Leviticus. My search shows that is not correct, even just in Leviticus. Sorry if i'm wrong!!
Thank you for your attention!!

I think I am missing something. What video are you referring to?

Are you searching in a particular version? Below is my search in the ESV for the word "holy". There are many ways to search this. As you said, it appears far more than 152 times.

Alexandro. You are correct. There is an error in the video when Mark Futato says the word 'holy' occurs 152 times in the Old Testament. I believe he meant to say Leviticus. There is actually an error in the transcript of the video also as at one point it says it occurs 152 times in Exodus and then it switches to read 152 times in Levticus. I don't have my computer on at the moment, working from my iPad, but I wonder if the count of 152 is based on the Hebrew Lemma and you are running search on English word 'Holy' and have match all word forms checked. This could possibly account for why you are getting a count higher than 152 in Leviticus - but not able verify since I am not at computer. Also note there is a forum for Logos m.Ed which you are best to post questions about this product as it will be more likely to be seen by Logos staff in that forum and you will get other users who n know what you are talking about.

Bruce the video Alexandro is referring to is part of Logos m.Ed. It is a course called OT101 Introducing OT: It's Structure and Story. The lecturer is Dr. Mark Futato. From the transcript of the videos the course description is as follows:
"The course traces the epic history of God’s interaction with humanity through His people, Israel, by focusing on the major themes of Old Testament books that narrate Israel’s history from the call of the patriarch Abraham through the return from exile. Those Old Testament books are Genesis through 2 Kings, 1–2 Chronicles, Ezra, and Nehemiah. Course content is not expositional, but instead focuses on important topics and threads that run through Israel’s story, showing how each book contributes to the Old Testament’s presentation of God’s goal of establishing a people and kingdom."
The video in question is an overview of Levticus and it is suggesting the overall key theme of Leviticus is Holiness and uses the word count as evidence of this statement.
As a side note Mark Barnes does the screencasts in this course.

That makes sense now.

Correct. I believe Dr. Futato misspoke when he said "The word 'holy' occurs 152 times in the Old Testament." Normally our transcripts match exactly what the speaker says, but I've corrected the transcript with brackets showing what he meant: "The word 'holy' occurs 152 times in the [book of Leviticus]." I believe he gets that number from searching for the Hebrew root. The change will be reflected in the next resource update.

Thanks Miles. The speakers do well, and the occasional slip on a word is to be expected. We all do it at times.

I am eager to see if corrections are made to these trainings and videos. Maybe then I might take one.

Josh, our team is working hard to ensure that the information in these courses are as accurate as possible. When there is an error in the lecture itself, such as the one noted above, we do our best to correct it. However, it is not always possible to correct the video itself. In these rare cases we make sure the transcript accurately reflects the intended meaning.
We take Mobile Ed course content very seriously and work hard to minimize errors like this one during recording. We also value user feedback and try to correct as many errors as we can as quickly as possible.
