    I am so glad this feature finally made it to Logos. Thanks, Logos! I appreciate your hard work in bringing this about!

    I'll have to change the email address on my Kindle Fire HD to something temporary so I can use the original email address from the HD on the HDX.  Am I on track????? 

    I am not really sure what you are asking. If you are asking if you can send books to multiple Kindle devices... the answer is "yes" and "no." You are allowed to have ONE (and only one) kindle email address associated with your Logos account. That ONE email address can only send resources to ONE device. Once you have sent a book to that ONE device, you have access to the book in your Amazon account and can download it to other devices associated with your Amazon account. Does that make sense? You should NOT be moving your email address from one device to another. Technically, you could lose your email address. Amazon doesn't have the ability to move email addresses from one device to another. The process is to "release" the email address (technically making it available to others). Often you can grab the email address back again, but there are no guarantees.

    What is it?

    Link your Kindle account to Logos and send your favorite resources to your mobile device. This gives you more freedom in how you interact with your digital library.

    How it works

    After linking your Kindle account information with your Logos account, you can send individual books to your Kindle device from the resource panel menu (within the software). All bible references should open in the Lexham English Bible.

    A kindle.com email address must be assigned to the account by entering “set kindle to #####@kindle.com” into the command box. Note: You cannot unlink your Kindle account once it has been linked. Please be sure to check your kindle.com address carefully before submitting.

    • The Send to Kindle email address must end in kindle.com. You can check the address at Amazon.com > Manage Your Content and Devices > Your Devices.
    • Also, you must add “noreply@logos.com” to your Approved Personal Document Email List at Amazon.com > Manage Your Content and Devices > Settings.
    • The “Send to Kindle” link is found on the Resource Information tab (i) of each resource (but not Personal Books).

    How do I get it?

    I've completed the following steps and I "do" see the "Send to Kindle" option with the correct @kindle.com address listed, but so far, the send request runs for a while (says it's sending) but then fails and gives me the option to "resend" it, which also fails.

    Steps followed are:

    • From Logos 6, linked my Kindle account information by entering "set kindle to xxxxx@kindle.com" in the Logos command box (where xxxx is my Kindle Fire email address.)  It said it linked successfully.
    • At Amazon, added the “noreply@logos.com” to my Approved Personal Document Email List.
    • From Logos 6, selected my Kindle Fire from the list of devices showing in my resource's information window.
    • From Logos 6, verified that the email address shown in the "Send to Kindle" link, matched the email address showing for my Kindle Fire on Amazon.
    • From Logos 6, selected the "Send to Kindle" option in that same resource information window.

    E.G.  I have a Kindle Touch and a Kindle Fire HD.  Amazon requires a different email address for each one, and as I said before, I certainly understand the need for that.  So I was trying to clarify what Bradley meant when he said:  "If you own the @kindle.com email address, you can reassign it to your devices, so there shouldn't be a legitimate need to change it often."  (Italic emphasis on the word "reassign" is mine.)  To me, that sounded like he was saying that to change which physical Kindle device you wanted to send a Logos resource to, you would have to take the @kindle.com email address you originally set up as your "link" in Logos, and reassign that email address to a different physical device.  If that's not what he meant when talking about reassigning the email address, I don't understand what he was driving at.

    I can't imagine that Bradley was suggesting that users move email addresses from one device to another for the purpose of directing Logos resources between two (or more) Kindle devices. Rather, Bradley is most likely saying: "If someone gets a new device, breaks a device, or otherwise decides to primarily use another device, they can move the email address from the 'old' to the 'new'." That should be a RARE event.

    Since you have two devices that you want to use, you should pick which one you will primarily want to use, and that should be the device you submit the email address for. When you want to read a Logos resource on the OTHER device, you will 1) send the resource to your primary device (which will both automatically download the resource to your primary device and ALSO upload the resource to the amazon cloud) and then 2) Manually download the resource to the secondary device from the amazon cloud.

  • I've successfully linked my Kindle Voyage's email address to my Logos account, and added "noreply@logos.com" to my approved sender's list on my Manage your Kindle devices page. However, when I try to send a Logos resource to the CORRECT Kindle email address (I've checked multiple times), all I end up with is "Resend to Kindle." Don't know what I'm doing wrong.  If I need to share my Logos logs to get help in resolving this issue, please tell me how to post the logs.  Thanks!

    Does the Command box refer to the same box at the top used to look up books? If so, what do I do after putting the Kindle address there. Looks like it's just searching for that as a Resource.

    I just tried this out by sending to my Android tablet. It seemed like it took a while for it to arrive, but I chose list view on Home on the Kindle app and invoked sync and it finally arrived.

    I think the fact that you see the"Resend" command means it was successful. Try syncing your Kindle again after a few minutes..

    In all of these discussions about send to kindle addresses, swapping them, changing them, manipulating them... it seems that something very simple is being forgotten: the kindle settings via Amazon.

    1. Navigate to your kindle settings on amazon.com.  
    2. Locate the personal document settings about 1/2 way down and turn on archiving.


    Now if I give logos my email address for my paperwhite, but I really wanted to read a book on my kindle classic. simple.

    1. Send the book from Logos.  
    2. Go to your Kindle archive,
    3. locate the book under "My Send-To-Kindle Docs,
    4. download it
    5. transfer it to the classic kindle.
    6. Done.

    I don't see any download options on the Manage Content page.  I can filter to just show Docs, and I see some Logos-sent books.  But the only options are Deliver or Delete.  Deliver allows me to send it to any device on that account, but I see no way to get the raw file to my computer.

    OK, it IS working and it's fine--just a little different than what I was expecting.  Won't go into details now as I'm not at a computer, but will do so later today.

    Thanks, I guess I was missing the "set kindle to" part. I did everything in Amazon, and my Kindle device does show up in the resource in Logos. But I guess it's just not linked yet.

    Amazon's Personal Docs service has no download option, as far as I'm aware. To get the raw file, deliver the book to your Paperwhite (or other eink Kindle) and pull the file from the documents folder.

    Sorry! Amazon has two sites for your viewing pleasure, and added confusion resulting in two potential methods. At any rate, DELIVER does allow you to send it where you want it.

    And the link I was looking at was: https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/   That one does have the download option.

    So Send to Kindle: Archive Delivery or Cloud drive Download.

    And the link I was looking at was: https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/   That one does have the download option.

    Thanks for the tip. I never use Cloud Drive and wasn't aware you could download from there.

    One tweak I'd suggest to the Logos team is to include the TOC in the Kindle file -- cover too if possible.

    OK, it IS working and it's fine--just a little different than what I was expecting.  Won't go into details now as I'm not at a computer, but will do so later today.

    OK... at a computer now.  Some of the things that threw me are explained below.  I'm offering this just in case it might help someone else avoid similar confusion.

    When using the Logos Bible app on an Android device the process to get a resource on the device is a very straight-forward "pull" process which provides a logical sequence of good feedback messages and is in total control of adding resources to and removing resources from your mobile device..  I.e.  Prior to adding a resource to your device, the resource information window has a "Download" option.  When you select it, you get a message that it's "Downloading", followed by a message that it's "Installing", followed by a "Remove" option.  The Android device is in total control of adding and removing resources and provides all the info you need to know whether or not a particular resource is currently on your mobile device.

    In comparison, the send to Kindle feature is a "push" process which provides less feedback and is not in total control of adding resources to and removing resources from a device.  I.e. Before ever sending a resource, it will have the "Send" option.  When you select it, you get a message that it's being sent, but not a message confirming the send completed successfully--just a "Resend" option.  After sending my first book, I saw the "Resend" option which left me wondering if the send was complete, or if there was a problem and I needed to resend the book.  So I checked on my device and on Amazon.  I didn't find it in my list of books on the device or on Amazon.  I didn't realize my "Book" would be considered a "Document", requiring me to look for it in a documents folder rather than a book list.  So I did a "Resend".  Still didn't see the "book" on my device or on Amazon.  I realized my mistake only after reading through all the posts in this thread.

    Also, because Amazon sees the book as a document, rather than a book, you don't see the same icon cover-art that you see when in Logos on a computer or in the Bible app on a mobile device.  Instead, you see a generic document icon containing just text--i.e. the book's title.

    So, yes... the process works fine and I'm very grateful to Logos to have this feature.  They didn't have to provide it, but they did! [:)]  Just some initial confusion on my part regarding the process flow.

  • Cool! Even though Logos told me I needed to resend the resources I wanted to load onto my Kindle, the resources made it onto my Kindle the first time anyway. This is one neat feature! Thanks, Logos! [:D]

    For clarification: when you see "resend to kindle," Logos isn't telling you that you need to resend, rather it is providing you a button if you need to resend.

    Hi Everyone i was waiting for this for months and at this point i'm very disappointed with Logos

    I have Logos 5 with the Library TESORO in Spanish  (5.2b Sr-7) and i can't use this feature when i put Send to KindleXXXX@kindle.com) nothing happen just a regular search.

    What version of Logos 5 i need in order to use Send to Kindle

    This feature isnt available in any of the "stable" releases for Logos 5. You can switch over to the beta channel and try that... with the typical warnings... plus, logos has said that they do not intend to develop the current beta further.

    The feature is a standard part of the "Logos 6" base engine. If you want to purchase a new base package OR data sets, you can get the engine now. If you don't want to make a new purchase, the "Logos 6" base engine will be available free to everyone starting in February.

    plus, logos has said that they do not intend to develop the current beta further.

    There is no current beta for Logos 5.x. (The 5.3 beta has been removed.)

    When I entered the command "set kindle account to <e-mailaddress>.kindle.com" it started connecting, but linking failed. After that, Logos doesnt't recognize the command anymore.

    Also found that your explanation gives a different command "set kindle to ....". But both aren't recognize. Any way to fix this?

    The command in this thread is set kindle to #####@kindle.com (where you obviously exchange your amazon email for the #'s). Where did you read about a different command?

    Any way to fix this?

    If you have inadvertently set the email address to something OTHER than your actual email address, you will have to speak to customer service. Due to copy protection, this is a "one and done" process on the user side of things.

    "set kindle account to ..." was explained in the instruction video: "https://www.logos.com/training/logos6/desktop/send-to-kindle" 

    I'll contact customer service.

    Logos started to link - via pop-up windows- but then gave an error. Something like "linking kindle failed"

  • Looks great, however it doesn't work for me. I've double checked the send to Kindle address and the authorization address in Amazon (I tried both "noreply@logos.com" and the more general "@logos.com").

    Any help on this would be welcome.
