The highlight of the reading assignment leaves gaps on the timeline flags that is distracting.

Actually, for me the highlight itself is the annoying thing....

I wouldn't disagree ... but if they do it they ought to do it right ... not that I'm a compulsive nitpicker or anything.[8-|]

The yellow highlighting is very annoying and shouldn't be showing up in the Mobile Ed. notes files. We use a different highlighting palette with a blue line to the left of the highlighted section so the text is still readable. I checked around with a few people here and none of them have the yellow highlight when they download the notes file. Is that how all the readings from that notes file are highlighted?

I'm running Verbum, have double checked that no other visual filters are on ... I've never seen the blue line, only yellow text.

If I turn off the filter for the note file I get no highlight at all - only the start-stop of a reading plan.

    Yes.

I manually change the style of those I read to "no highlight"

Maybe you need to share this palette with us, and the behavior will change?

It seems the red boxed highlighting option is used in NT221 by default in our circumstance: "highlight in note color" = yellow (I'd like it to be "no highlight" like everywhere else, but a blue (or to my eyes rather grey) sideline seems okay and unobjectable.

Note: I'm running 6.0b beta 4, but NT221's readings looked like this since the course shipped (afaik regardless of verbum mode and UI English or German) and having no prior experience with mobile Ed readings, I really thought this was intentional from your side.

I believe this is an issue on the server. When you copy a shared notes document you should also get copies of any highlighting styles that it uses. It looks like in your case the styles never got copied correctly and the default (yellow highlight) is what you are seeing.

I'll look into to seeing if I can get that cleaned up.

Just adding a post so I'll get notified when this is fixed — in case I need to do anything. [:)].

    Thanks!

I imagine we will then see a newer version of the Reading Plan?

    Fixed!

The missing highlighting style should sync down automatically and the yellow highlight should go away.

I'll track this thread in case there are further questions or problems.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention MJ!

    That worked!

A related problem (a design flaw, rather than a bug) is that all the notes for these courses end up as popular highlights. It would be good if this could be avoided somehow.

The courses are so much more "fun" to read since the highlighting went away. Thank you so much!
