Chromecast and Proclaim

I received an e-mail that the quoted post below was sent, but it is not on the forum . . .go figure, that's quite a bit of lag.  Anyway, here is the quote:

Probably only one... and that's all you need to run a service. CONTROLLING the service is done through a tablet or phone running iOS or Android.

I haven't read anything about Linux support for Proclaim.

We're a new church plant and don't own the building.  We set up and tear down each Sunday.  We aren't able to run permanent cables through the building and are doing what we can wirelessly, also we are using our personal equipment.  An AppleTV has been a help, but I had to download a third party app for use with my Windows laptop to send my desktop to the AppleTV and thus to the flat screen.  The app does not support sending audio alone (but sends audio if it is with a video, go figure) and there is no way to have music during the preservice slideshow that is controlled by my computer at the back of the church (my wife doesn't like sitting in front and I like to worship with her).  I have the Proclaim app on my Android phone, but occasionally the worship leader likes to repeat a verse out of order, without having it in front of me on a large screen, I can't get to the slide quickly enough.

I don't run the presentation each week, Pastor's son does it on occasion and would love to use his linux laptop, but uses his dad's MacBook when he runs the presentation.

Chromecast costs $35, churches on a budget, like our new plant, can afford that.

Proclaim is a Godsend for us as we have no central offices, the Worship leader can set up the slides for the music, the pastor can set up his slides for the sermon and the announcements can be set up by someone else . . . all from their own homes.

[:)]  I was thinking also of missionaries or other traveling preachers who would be able to bring a Chromecast with them whenever they speak at churches that may not have Proclaim installed.  The Chromecast dongle isn't much bigger than a flash drive, all one would need is a small netbook and a place to plug it into and someone could bring their Proclaim Presentation anywhere.

Chromecast support would be a natural for Proclaim as the files are stored in the cloud and Chromecast excels at playing (as an intermediary) cloud based content.  We have a projector and a flatscreen and one Chromecast (I'm planning on buying another and donating it this weekend).  

As the AV tech at our new church plant we had a lot of headaches in our recent move (http://www.wnd.com/2015/01/church-gets-the-boot-by-county-government/) it would have saved a lot of work.  

I also head up a ministry that helps get medical supplies to medical missionaries (www.medmatmin.org) and being able to take a Chromecast and a laptop on trips when I speak saves a lot of logistical problems.  I can use Google Slides but am very familiar with Proclaim and would prefer to use it.

I've tried that, it casts both the primary and secondary screens side by side [:P] 

Proclaim also has a way to send your presentation to a browser, which kind of worked since I can send any tab to the Chromecast, but you don't get any animations with this.

I'm really just hoping that Proclaim looks into native Chromecast support or that the devs @ Chromecast add an option for casting secondary monitor (I've asked them to)
