Reading Plans + Logos Mobile Ed?
Is there a way to easily make a reading plan for a Logos Mobile Ed course? It would be really nice if Logos released reading plans for each course so that students can quickly customize a schedule for going through the course work.
It would be really nice to have 2 types of reading plans for each course:
- A reading plan for the lecture transcripts (each lecture video with transcript would be a session and the student could decide if they want to make the reading plan schedule 1 session per day, week, 3 times a week on certain days, etc.)
- A reading plan for the readings that accompany the lectures. I have seen some classes have a notes document provided with all the readings in that note document. This is nice, but is there a way to convert this to a reading plan? That could save some time too.
I'm really hoping someone will tell me that this is already easily possible? I know I could go through each lecture manually and add it to a clippings document and then create a reading plan from that clippings document but that sounds super tedious. I suppose if one person did all this work and uploaded the result to the course Faithlife group documents section then it could be worth it, but it would be really nice if Logos could provide this themselves so that it's more professional, accurate, consistent, etc.
I think that this would add a really nice touch to the Logos Mobile Ed courses and this would fill a huge need that I see with online courses: motivation. It can be hard to be self-motivated to go through online, self-paced courses, but with this type of reading plan integration, it could really provide some of that much needed motivation for many. Thoughts?

Ok, I tested out the whole idea of using a clippings document and creating a custom reading plan. This mostly seems to work (although it is very tedious as I mentioned above). I tested it out with a few lectures, but as you can see in the screenshot, it seems that there is no way to change this reading plan to anything but an "every day" schedule. Can't I create a custom reading plan that has a lecture every other day or on the weekdays only or 3 times a week, etc. like I can on the "Generate a Reading Plan" option (as opposed to the "Custom Reading Plan" option). Notice how it's just: Today, Tomorrow, the next day, the next day, the next day, etc. etc. etc.

This is what seems to be missing in the "Custom Reading Plan" option (this screenshot is from the "Generate a Reading Plan" option):
This makes me wonder if there's a way to just use the "Generate a Reading Plan" option since it already has this scheduling component nicely implemented? The only problem with that is when I try to use this option, I don't know how to tell it to give me one lecture per "session." In the reading plan. Help?

Yes, I see that, but again, notice how it's every single day on the schedule? I simply want to be able to create my own schedule, MWF, or at least a break on the weekends, etc.
Depending upon which you prefer, we can give appropriate directions.
I simply want to be able to create my own schedule, choosing how many lectures per day, and which days of the week. Which ever way will let me do that, please give me "appropriate directions" to go down that road. Thanks! [:)]

I simply chose to have it every day. On a custom plan you don't even need to have a consistent pattern - you simply assign the readings to the dates you want.
Depending upon which you prefer, we can give appropriate directions.

This will work for now for my needs. Although I will admit it's not the most user friendly and still not the most ideal.
It will take a good 30 minutes to create a whole schedule for each class, when it seems with just a minor change, the "Generate a Reading Plan" option could be much nicer and quicker for advanced class scheduling!

No, Reading lists don't convert easily into reading plans as lists often contain materials not available in Logos. But you are right that there are a number of times it would be nice to be able to convert back and forth between the two.
These reading lists will help you get familiar with the Logos capabilities:
