B100 Audio volume
Hi.
Right after the release of B100, there was a post that pointed out that the audio levels for mr. Bock are too low. https://community.logos.com/forums/p/91736/660421.aspx#660421 A Logos employee conceded the point, and said that they would attempt to correct the problem ASAP.
The same problem has been reported for NT221, with a similar response from Logos: https://community.logos.com/forums/p/101144/699015.aspx#699015
As far as I can tell, nothing has happened with B100. Here is why this is an issue for me: I use my tablet to view the course material. Often times in my home, which can have a little ambient noise. I live next to a highway, and I have kids as well :-). With the ambient noise, mr. Bock is a bit hard to hear, and sometimes I cannot discern his words at all. With most video content that I view on my tablet, this is not a problem. I assume Logos is familiar with dynamic range compression, so this should be an easy one to fix. .
Regards,
Sakarias

Sakarias,
I just confirmed with our Content Production department that the update to BI100 went out this afternoon. It should be available immediately on the Logos desktop apps and should be pushed out to mobile apps by the end of the day tomorrow. This update fixes the audio issues you noted by raising the overall volume and further refining the quality of the audio (better EQ and compression).
The similar issue with NT221 should be fixed this week as well.
Thank you for your patience as we work to iron our our update process for Mobile Ed video resources.

Hi Josh. Do you know if the volume in NT221 has been "fixed" or not? When I just checked, it was still extremely low.

Bill, the video resource was updated May 11th. I just tested the resource and it sounds good on my end. If you have downloaded the videos you will need to erase them and re-download the new versions. Otherwise, the streaming videos should playback the new files. Let me know if you're still experiencing problems with the resource.

My library files are dated November 2014 and April 2015...at least that's when my Library says that they were last updated...not sure if they are downloaded to my computer or not (I don't remember downloading the videos), so how do I "get rid of" the old files?

Never mind...I figured it out...as it is "late" I will try it in the morning and let you know if all is well.

The audio volume is very much improved. Thank you!

Upon further review: The audio still needs to be amplified. I'm watching this on a laptop (speakers are never the greatest), so I HAVE to use earbuds even with the volume set to it's highest level. I don't use a desktop computer anymore, so laptops (I have two of them) are my computers...both laptops exhibited the same lack of volume (at least in segments 4 & 5) and it is frustrating to try to pay attention to what BW3 is saying when the volume is not very high.
The other Mobile Ed courses that I have sound just fine, but NT221 just lacks volume...maybe it is just BW3's soft-spoken voice.0
