TIP of the day: Read the blog post on How to create a passage list from a ToC, plus some Add-Ons

Morris Proctor shares a tip every Monday or so on the Logos blog. This week, the tip was really good!

It was about how to create a passage list from a ToC - which is especially great when it's the ToC of the book "100 Verses everyone Should Know by Heart" (buy it at Vyrso for only 2.99 sale price).  

The book will give you ten chapters on the power of scripture memory (plus an appendix extracting the core of a time-proven book on that topic), the 100 verses in the ToC plus a 100-days devotional for the 100 Verses, grouped in 13 sections.

For whatever reason the original tip did not seem to create much (or any?) traction in the blog or forum, so I thought to share it here again. I won't reiterate Morris' steps here - they are explained in great detail with screenshots etc as we are used from him - just go to https://blog.logos.com/2015/11/how-to-create-a-scripture-memory-list-in-logos 

However, I followed his instructions and found there's room for some additional add-ons to Morris' original post:

• The final result is a Passage list of 100 passages. Robert Morgan put those into a structure of 13 sections - Morris did not show that we can easily generate Headings for those:
  
  
  
  
• Moreover: some users will never get around in following the instructions and producing the passage list by themselves (you should try it nevertheless! The instructions are step-by-step and easily followed). Logos documents may be shared, so I went ahead and did so with my version of it including the section headings. • In following Morris' instructions, at point J we will generate a perfectly valid Word document of the 100 verses grouped along their thirteen topical headers. Morris doesn't do anything with it - of course this could easily be saved and built into a Personal Book (PB). Actually without changing anything, this compiles error-free and with all 100 verses detected. 
  This PB may serve as a resource for those who still did not buy the book but want to learn the 100 verses nevertheless. 1033.100 Verses Everyone Should Know by Heart.docx
• The PB above will - as the original book resource - show the bible verses in popups and in your most highly prioritized (=preferred) bible. A helpful iteration would be to enhancing this to include dynamic text and compile as e.g. lectionary: then one can choose the bible version of the text to be displayed, even switch to other languages.
  
  
  
  such a PB is easy to build with one "replace all" run in Word on an export from the Passage List (and some minor cleanup like heading styles and such), again, make sure you compile the PB as type Lectionary to get the selection for the bible version: 1325.100 Verses Everyone Should Know by Heart - dtext.docx
  
  
• But one should really own the original book (did I tell you it's on sale for 2.99 currently?) - it's probably advisable to read Part 1 in one go, but Part 2 definitely merits a Reading Plan for 100 days.

  I took the shortcut to only select the daily chapter headings instead of whole days, but I think everybody wanting to follow the plan can work this out.
