My documents are not syncing from my ipad to my windows desktop.  Documents created on my desktop are showing up on my ipad, however.  The desktop documents are showing up at document/logos.com, but the ipad generated documents are not. Any ideas?

    Any ideas?

The first step is to try to determine if the issue is a desktop or mobile issue. Start by checking documents.logos.com and determine if the note and/or document is syncing to the cloud. If it is, the issue is with desktop and this thread may be moved to the L6 forum.

For clarification: documents.logos.com won't tell you that the documents aren't syncing to your desktop. It will tell you if the document is syncing to the cloud.

What specific method did you check? Did you create a new note, or a new document? Did you sort by date to make sure you found the right document/note?

Do you have multiple FL apps installed on this device? If so, which ones? If so, have you tried creating a note/document from one of the different apps?

Which specific version of which app are you currently using? What version of iOS?

Have you tried killing the app? Restarting your device?

I have this same problem with an iPad mini 4 to a mac laptop. I created a specific clippings file, and added a lot of clippings. When I went to work with this on the laptop, the only thing that appears on the laptop is the specific clipping file, but no clippings. (This is what is shown in the cloud on the logos site ass well.)

I don't really want to kill the iOS app and install again, because then I'll presumably lose all the clippings I've made - several hours of work. Restarting the iPad didn't accomplish anything. I've tried forcing a sync, and nothing changes. There isn't apparently anyway else to get at the material in the clippings file on the iPad - I can't email it, for instance...

For clarfication: killing the app just means fully closing it, not deleting it (which would mean losing your data).

Bryce - First, welcome to the forums! Sorry you are having troubles. [:s]

Please create a new thread and explain your issue clearly. This is for two reasons: First, it allows the original poster in this thread (and you as well) to get the attention your issue needs. Secondly, your issue may be different than the OP.

I am having a similar issue, however mine has nothing to do with the mobile app. I created a clippings document on my office PC and added several clippings. When I go to documents.logos.com, the file name appears, but there is no content within the file. When I try to open the file on other computers (home PC or laptop), I get the same result. File name is available. but no content.

Not trying to create a new thread. Just pointing out this may not be an app issue. It may be a cloud issue. I am working with support to figure out on my end. Thanks though.

I tried creating a new clippings file this morning with one clipping in it. This transferred without a problem. So I started transferring the clippings on the iPad from the original file (file #1) into this clippings file (file #2) and it seemed to be working - i.e. they were appearing in the corresponding  laptop clippings file.  So I transferred the rest of the clippings on the iPad, but when I went a looked at the new clippings file (#2) on the laptop, it seemed to be empty again! I started transferring them back to file #1 from file #2 (on the iPad). After transferring about 6 back, both files had now synced properly to the laptop!  There seems to be a size limit on what will sync correctly - if exceeded there's a problem.

Everyone, please give us more details if you can.

    Please see https://community.logos.com/forums/t/118697.aspx and https://community.logos.com/forums/t/123105.aspx .

Things like which resources are being used for clippings, how large the clippings are, which exact versions of Desktop and Mobile apps, were the clippings created online or offline, etc.  Thanks!

Regarding clippings files not syncing unless separated into smaller files:

The clippings were created while both devices were online, the iPad mini4, iOS 9.3.2, and the MacBook Pro Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015 OS X 10.11.5.  I quit both apps and restarted them a number of times with no change in syncing.  I also forced them to sync numerous times with no change in the results. The single large files, created on the iPad would just show up in the my Logos cloud document list by name, but apparently empty, and the same result was synced over to the laptop. Syncing only seemed to occur correctly when they were divided into smaller clippings files.

The software version #’s are: Logos Bible Software 6.11 SR-2 6.11.0.0041, and Logos Bible 5.2.2. There both update automatically.

One file has approx. 5700 chars. including spaces, the other had 2150.

Clipping Sources: New Bible dictionary, Lexham Bible Dictionary, The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia,

Dictionary of the later New Testament and its development, Baker encyclopedia of the Bible, and links to images in Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary , Rose Then and Now Bible Map Atlas with Biblical Background and Culture, Holman Bible Atlas.

    I hope this helps.

Sorry I did not see the follow up to this thread until now. I have three Clippings documents that are giving me sync issues. All were created on the same desktop PC, which is running Windows 10 and Logos 6.11.0.0041.

Two of the documents were files that I created a couple of years ago and had no trouble with. However, I recently added clippings to them and then they would no longer sync. They show up fine on the PC where they were created, but are blank when I pull them up at logos.documents.com, my other two PCs, or my mobile devices. The title appears, but the document has no content.

The third document was a newly created document. Same issues.

The first two documents are about 12 pages when exported to Word. The third is about 6 pages. I was clipping from the same resource for all three, which is the IVP New Testament Commentary: Luke (Darrell Bock).

We've found the cause of the Clippings sync issue and it should now be resolved on the server.  If anyone has remaining issues please let us know.

I wasn't able to check until this morning because the computer where I created the documents is in my office. I went in and started Logos and allowed it to sync. No change. The documents are on my office PC, but only the title with no content appears at documents.logos.com (and on my other PCs and mobile devices).

We'll take a further look at this issue next week. Please create a new clipping on both Desktop and Mobile and see if they sync properly - this will help determine whether the server change we made took effect for your account.

Hi Kevin. Does this come under the same umbrella of general sync issues: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/125552.aspx ?

The with the attempt at generic report is poor initial response ... followed by no further response ... followed by ring us because it is too complicated! not great support ... they have not tried anything yet ... and ringing half-way around the world does not appeal!

    Thanks.

As alabama24 previously mentioned this is a Desktop issue that should have been reported to the Logos 6 forum. Posting to the correct forum will likely get a better and more accurate response.

That said, please create a brand new Clippings document on Desktop and see if it syncs to documents.logos.com.

There really aren't "generic" sync issues. There is a Clippings sync issue that I am aware of (that should be fixed for new Clippings) but I am unaware of any other sync issues (Notes, Prayer Lists, Highlights, Reading Plans, etc.). If old Clippings documents are incomplete we can work on restoring the data.

I don't closely watch the Logos 6 Desktop forums and was unaware of your post... I'll take a look.

The corrections that Kevin Byford mentioned have solved the problem I was having with clippings not syncing correctly. Thanks for your efforts!
