Resource Update Frequency
Hi,
Not sure if others experience this, but many times there is a flurry of resource updates that occur over a period of several days and each time the software needs to index the new resources. This generally takes a while and results in a slowdown of the computer impacting the use of other software, etc.
Has there ever been any discussion about having a weekly update of resources thereby only requiring indexing once a week? Software updates/fixes are different - anytime is fine for those. It's the resource updates that I'm concerned about.
Thanks,
Mike

This type of request has been discussed on a number of occasions - see https://community.logos.com/forums/t/75959.aspx for an example.
Are you aware that you can disable automatic download of updates so you can choose when they are downloaded to your system?
Its a setting under Tools -> Program Settings

Thanks Graham - Yes, I do know about disabling the automatic download. I was just thinking that software vs. resources are different. I will check out the link you provided.
Thanks again,
Mike

It applies to both software and resources - in other words you can enable / disable automatic updates for everything.
You can't allow software updates and prevent resource updates.

When we update resources we try to batch updates. These updates are pushed out every other Monday. The last update was October 17th. The next will be October 31st.
If we're publishing a resource that is part of a live product we do our best to release it on the same schedule as the resource updates.
The big exception is if there is a high profile resource that is sufficiently broken to necessitate an emergency update.
