0131.THE PHILOSOPHY OF CHRISTIAN BEING.docx

I came across this work while researching for my latest book and it intrigued me. I browsed through it and then used the excuse of watching the Superbowl to convert it to a PB while I watched.

It may (but also may not) be associated with the Stone-Campbell movement.  My clues are that the Introduction is written by the President of Phillips University which was until recent years a Disciples of Christ school with one of their seminaries.  Also, Brandenburg quotes numerous times from Alexander Campbell's translation of the New Testament: The Living Oracles.   If anyone knows anything about Walter E. Brandenburg, I would appreciate knowing more.  Nothing comes up on Google about him except this book.

Here also are a couple of covers

The Superbowl is a good excuse to do some Logos work. [;)]

I am not sure if this is the same person, but would think so.  The obit is for Walter's father.  Walter, at the time of his father's death, was minister of the First Christian Church in Parsons, KS.  And the family has good Disciple's background.  So hope this helps other to look and I will continue.

    Thom:

Thanks.  That makes sense.  Parsons' proximity to Enid where Phillips is/used to be (I think the seminary moved to Tulsa?) would make that a likely candidate.  I ministered in Benton (north of Andover) for 3 years in the 1980s and then out in Garden City for 13.   Miss many things about Kansas, especially the people.
