Hi.

I was trying to browse Vyrso's site again today ... and simply gave up again ... loss of sales ... again.

The source of the frustration is the UI. I want to browse Vyrso but exclude all of the Fiction material. I do not want to look at a particular Genre since I do not know exactly what I am loking for, nor do I know how FL have classified their resources. I do know that I have no interest in Fiction!!!

Is there a way to exclude genres by editing the URL (along the lines of 'unlocked=no')?

Thanks.

BTW. I am curious as to why I still have to use 'unlocked=no' ... has FL ever siad why they have not added that to the UI?

Thanks.

I want to browse Vyrso but exclude all of the Fiction material.

Non Fiction not in library sorted by savings => https://vyrso.com/products/search?q=-GenreGroup%3A*Fiction&unlocked=no&start=&sort=savings&pageSize=60

Thankful for forum reply => https://community.logos.com/forums/p/74300/673273.aspx#673273

    Simplified solution:

     "-GenreGroup:*Fiction"

    Examples:

(where "&unlocked=no" means exclude books that are already in your library).

Thankful for Faithlife reply => https://community.logos.com/forums/p/74300/519162.aspx#519162 earlier in thread:

We do not support this feature right now through the regular facets.  However you can use some special syntax in your search to remove certain fields, if you know the secret field name.  In this case, if you search for:

    -GenreGroup:Fiction

(Translated to "EXCLUDE anything with the Genre OF Fiction")

You will get all the results that are not in the "Fiction" genre.  The entire query is case-sensitive and the lack of spaces is important.  The final URL looks something like http://vyrso.com/products/search?q=-GenreGroup%3AFiction

If you wanted to search for Freebies like the original poster, the link would look like http://vyrso.com/products/search?q=price%3A%5B0+TO+0%5D+-GenreGroup%3AFiction&unlocked=no&start=0&sort=rel&pageSize=60

    Keep Smiling [:)]

Do you know of any other eBook store which has this feature? Not Kindle, Nook or CBD!

I agree it would be good, and I think it would lead (potentially) to more sales. I know that Vyrso is just a "hobby" for FL, so not much is put into it.

It is not a 'hobby', it is an arm of an international business on which they I am sure would be paying the appropriate taxes. Running a business with little care does not make it a 'hobby'.

Alabama please cease from using your position as an MVP to mislead FL customers as to the nature of the Vyrso business. While you continue to persist with pedalling this lie you are abusing your position within these forums.

The term "hobby" is used by many companies to describe side businesses. Apple, for example, describes the AppleTV as a "hobby." Faithlife hasn't used the word "hobby" to describe Vyrso, but they have made it clear that they make little on those resources and that it is more of a service to customers than a primary business venture.

If you disagree with me, feel free to respond to the content of my posts, but I would appreciate you ceasing the personal attacks.

There was no personal attack, I was simply pointing out the obvious about the truthfulness of your statement which I copied below.

A hobby is not something you take little care in and is not something in which you choose to invest little time, money, effort or other resources. You in fact do the opposite because you are passionate about it and it brings you much joy and pleasure.

Futhermore your statement is very derogatory about the attitude of FL towards the customers of this business because you are highlighiting the fact they take so little interest or care in the business. When that is the case how can they be serving customers by doing running a business in this manner? How are they serving international customers when they are not clear about books that can not be sold to them that come up in the shopping cart as an error which FL is trying to fix - a blatant and known mis-truth being communicated to customers. How can misleading information on their website about the ability of Vyrso books always showing the correct bible reference on lookup, when FL openly admit they don't go through the resources and correctly tag all the bible references so that they do lookup correctly , how can that be a service to customers? And how can selling these rsources that are not tagged be s service to customers when in the past the leadership of this company had said in order to protect and service customers they were stopping third parties from introducing resources into the Logos environment because they were not tagging them correctly?

If I had wanted to be personal there is a lot I could say about what your statements about this business reveal about you but I choose not to do so.  And  If you continue to make misleading statements to customers about this business on these forums I will call that out when I see it.You seem to have a personal problem with me because I am honest and call out FL when they do the wrong thing by customers and when you make statements that are lacking truth. I hope that someday you can get over that and respect the fact I do have a very different view to you and my expressing that view is not a personal attack upon you, but till that day I will not be bullied by you into silence.
