[BUG] Checkout
Hi,
I am trying to purchase a book and get the following error message:
"There is a problem in our checkout system. We are working to fix it now."
Has anybody else experienced this? How long does it usually until it is fixed?

Hi Armin,
I'm getting that message too. It has been the same for 12 hours or so.

I live at the other end of the world, but even with a VPN to Canada and a Canadian creditcard I have the same issue. I'm trying to purchase the following two resources:
War, Peace, and Christianity: Questions and Answers from a Just-War Perspective

Reformed Means Missional: Following Jesus into the World is the one I'm trying to buy from the UK. You're probably right Alabama. It is a pretty misleading message though!

Since you were both having troubles with that resource, and it was on sale, you talked me into trying to purchase it. I had no problems, which leads me to believe my hypothesis accurate.

Are all of your purchases done in the same manner? I wonder if any fellow Canadian forum members have attempted to purchase this resource on sale.

Colin this is more than misleading, it is FL showing total disrespect towards their international customers. This is a longstanding problem with the Vyrso website that FL employees are well aware of its existence and the fact it has caused confusion and concern for a number of customers over the years. The attitude of the leadership team at FL to sit on their hands and do nothing about it is absolutely disgusting. FL is a for profit business and their is no justification for their inaction on an issue that is not a new problem.

A VPN will not help you. From my experience with these matters it is about the country of the address attached to your account. Specifically, you normally need to have a postcode that falls within the region that the publisher is licenced to distribute the resource.

Thanks Alabama,
I hope you enjoy the book! The funny thing is I have purchased many New Growth Press books from vyrso and have never come across this issue before. To check to see if it was something new, I cleared my cart and bought another one on offer at the minute from the same publisher and it went through fine.
Curiouser and curiouser!

By the way Armin, you may well be able to purchase War, Peace, and Christianity: Questions and Answers from a Just-War Perspective if you remove the other one from your cart.

I'm having our team look into this to see if there is a bug in the system or if we can't get a better error message if this is due to territory restrictions. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you and others!

This is the error message that displays on Vyrso when you're trying to purchase something in a part of the world we don't have the rights to distribute to. It's definitely not the best message to display in this instance. We do have a plan to update the system to resolve this issue.

Hi Colin,
Yes, this worked. Thanks for the hint.

Thank you Glenn and Carley for your responses. I do hope when you say you have a plan that it is something that will be enacted upon soon. It is a longstanding issue and in the past when other FL employees have said they have a plan, it either keeps getting delayed or it never comes to fruition.

I can confirm that Canadians are not allowed to buy https://vyrso.com/product/135882/reformed-means-missional-following-jesus-into-the-world. They definitely need to fix this because I wasn't able to buy anything in my cart because of that one book.
Thanks to PetahChristian for the help https://community.logos.com/forums/t/144003.aspx

I find it interesting that I have been raising this issue for a long time and have been chastised by a certain MVP for daring to raise any criticisms of Vyrso, and yet now other customers are raising the issue the said MVP is not telling them to not raise the issue and is not telling them they should stop buying Vyrso books because they have a problem with them.

It's on sale again and causing trouble again by the looks of things.

I tried to buy it again to see if anything has changed but no; same "There is a problem in our checkout system. We are working to fix it now."

This issue of copyright restriction is why I have to buy a lot of books on Kindle Direct. I have never had a copyright restriction issue with Amazon Kindle Direct.
Now my question is: If Amazon can get copyright restrictions lifted on books, why can't Faithlife do it? And if they could, why don't they do it???

The answer is: Amazon can't either.
See my reply to your post of the same content in the other thread.
Have joy in the Lord!
