Hi,
I am trying to purchase a book and get the following error message:
"There is a problem in our checkout system. We are working to fix it now."
Has anybody else experienced this? How long does it usually until it is fixed?
Armin
Hi Armin,
I'm getting that message too. It has been the same for 12 hours or so.
Colin
Which book, and where do you live? It may be the generic message for "you don't live someplace where we can sell you that book."
I live at the other end of the world, but even with a VPN to Canada and a Canadian creditcard I have the same issue. I'm trying to purchase the following two resources:
War, Peace, and Christianity: Questions and Answers from a Just-War Perspective
Reformed Means Missional: Following Jesus into the World
I'm having our team look into this to see if there is a bug in the system or if we can't get a better error message if this is due to territory restrictions. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you and others!
Carley
This is the error message that displays on Vyrso when you're trying to purchase something in a part of the world we don't have the rights to distribute to. It's definitely not the best message to display in this instance. We do have a plan to update the system to resolve this issue.
Thank you Glenn and Carley for your responses. I do hope when you say you have a plan that it is something that will be enacted upon soon. It is a longstanding issue and in the past when other FL employees have said they have a plan, it either keeps getting delayed or it never comes to fruition.
I can confirm that Canadians are not allowed to buy https://vyrso.com/product/135882/reformed-means-missional-following-jesus-into-the-world. They definitely need to fix this because I wasn't able to buy anything in my cart because of that one book.
Thanks to PetahChristian for the help https://community.logos.com/forums/t/144003.aspx

I find it interesting that I have been raising this issue for a long time and have been chastised by a certain MVP for daring to raise any criticisms of Vyrso, and yet now other customers are raising the issue the said MVP is not telling them to not raise the issue and is not telling them they should stop buying Vyrso books because they have a problem with them.
It's on sale again and causing trouble again by the looks of things.

I tried to buy it again to see if anything has changed but no; same "There is a problem in our checkout system. We are working to fix it now."
This issue of copyright restriction is why I have to buy a lot of books on Kindle Direct. I have never had a copyright restriction issue with Amazon Kindle Direct.
Now my question is: If Amazon can get copyright restrictions lifted on books, why can't Faithlife do it? And if they could, why don't they do it???
Now my question is: If Amazon can get copyright restrictions lifted on books, why can't Faithlife do it?
The answer is: Amazon can't either.
