Feeling Unwanted, Left Alone.

Was hoping to join the M102 Faithlife group so I could get the Course Readings document.  But, it won't let me join.

1. Why can I not join?

2. How do I get the document for the course?

    1. Do you own the course?

    2. What message do you get when you try to join?

    3. Are you logged in?

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

You don't join these groups, you simply follow them and this will allow you to acess the documents. I was able to follow and access documents for other  courses I own. Did you try to follow or something different?

This is true (and independent of owning the course). Faithlife changed their concept from membership to followership in this aspect some time ago. Unfortunately, it seems that for this course there are no documents:

(or due to some issue, they are only visible to members - either way, Faithlife needs to correct this)

    1. Do you own the course?  --Yes, I own the course.

    2. What message do you get when you try to join?  --Actually, I Follow the Group rather than Join.  I can Follow successfully.

    3. Are you logged in?  --Yes.

    There are no documents present.

I have been successful with all other courses.  I suspect this course may simply be missing the document.  Having the document is not imparative, but certainly very useful for me.

[Edit]  Do I get a similar result by using course within the Courses Tool, and don't really need the document?  (I still prefer the document)

This is likely true.  Although the course has a link to download the document, it may not actually be available.

I am off now to fry bigger fish.

    Thanks, everyone.

There are documents for this group. In the settings they were set to only be available to Members, but for some reason the option to join as a "Member" disappeared. I updated the settings so that "Followers" can now access any of the documents.

Mystery solved. It works!  Asking was worthwhile. Thanks, Mike.
