Hi,

I am learning to use Logos 7 with the Mobile Ed course Learn to Study the Bible with Logos: Matthew 4:1-11

Lesson 3 is teaching about highlighting, but mine is formatted with very strange line spacing. How do I correct the line spacing that my highlight has messed up? [WHO]  [WHAT] [WHERE]

thanks in advance

Aaron

Some of the highlights are "bulky" enough that they add some spacing in tightly spaced lines. Two ways:

    • You delete the offending highlight and use another one.
      • Right-click on the highlight
      • Click on the delete option
    • You can increase your overall line spacing so that everything stays even.
      • Tools/Program settings/Line spacing
      • Pick Loose rather than Normal or Tight

    Thanks for looking and answering.

Would you say that your second option (increasing overall line spacing) has been the solution in the training video itself? (image below). I also prefer the font he has used in his selected bible.

I haven't looked at the video, so I can't say; however, if you're using the exact same highlighting as the video but ending up with different spacing, I would guess that's it.

As for font preferences, you can change those in the same menu I gave for line spacing.

Here is a comparison image, showing how mine looks after I increased the line spacing in the system properties. I feel like the issue is with the blue caption option of my highlights. The red highlight on the words "devil" and "tempter" seem to fit the words appropriately, while the blue captions extend well below the words....if that makes sense.

Yes, it's clearly the "captioned" labels that mess with the line spacing. I made a captioned label and applied it on my text, and it caused no discernible spacing problem. I'm on Windows 10, and here's my present relevant Logos settings:

    • Line spacing: Normal
    • Font: Default

I wonder if changing your line spacing would help:

    • Line spacing: Loose

Brilliant thinking...could be a mac related issue...

hmmm...nope. Here is a screenshot from my Windows 10 PC...sadly the same formatting hiccup. Perhaps my account has something a bit squirrely
