Creating an interlinear Bible

As I spent time in the original languages and translate passages, I am interested in using that in future Bible study. I would like to import it into Logos as a interlinear Bible or as a version of the Bible where the Greek shows up below it and highlights it when you click on an English word. if there a specific format that I can use to get that to work or do I need a different tool?

    This isn’t possible.

There is always a way, but not all ways are equally useful.  For example, I can use jpeg files inside a word doc to get close to what I need but it wouldn't be searchable.

I was hoping that the formatting in a personal book would be close to what I need and I would be able to add custom tags to keep it at the right place. Or at worst case have my English version as a personal book with tags to connect it to a Greek or Hebrew Bible.  But I don't know enough about personal books or tagging to make it happen, yet.

If Logos can't help, any suggestions  as to tools that can?

  • Logos wiki has => Personal Books

Logos Help includes Personal Book Syntax => https://ref.ly/logosres/logos4help?hw=Personal+Books+Syntax&off=22

An idea is creating a Personal Book Bible (with Bible text on/off and Bible milestones) whose surface text is a personal translation. Surface text could have hyperlink to Greek Strongs (OR possibly Logos Greek Morphology lemma - currently not know schema:reference syntax). Also could have footnotes with comments: e.g. translation.

From the Fairhlife CEO (so far, no change):

The key is tables support. I have PB interlinears on another Bible platform, including color coding for morphs, etc. If Logos did tables, you’d be in business.

Thanks, I just commented on that post.  Hopefully they have been working on it over the last 7 years.

Thank you.  This will help with my fall-back position if I can find d something better.

Hyperlink can have one schema:reference combination while Interlinear and Reverse Interlinear can have many: e.g.

    • Lemma:lbs/el/Χριστός
    • LogosMorphGr:NGSM
    • GreekStrongs:g5547
    • LouwNida:LN93.387

This PB Bible has two links (Strong's and Morph) for every word: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/104429.aspx

They somehow managed to attach two hyperlinks together. I think it is done using this converter: https://github.com/schierlm/BibleMultiConverter

    If Logos did tables

I would hate any casual reader of this topic to think that Logos did nor support any form of tables in PB.s, I have been using simple tables for several years in PB's, as many others have, and seldom hit problems. Just keep them simple (and from what has been said on this topic avoid creating interlinears!!) and you will be fine, just ignore warnings in the Logos compiler log!

That might be why my tables don't compile in Logos PB. Thanks, John.

Please add nested hyperlink alternative syntax to Personal Book Compiler (allow surface text to have more than one schema:reference): e.g.

    [[Christ >> Lemma:lbs/el/Χριστός >> LogosMorphGr:NGSM >> GreekStrongs:g5547 >> LouwNida:LN93.387]]

Follow-up to threads => Personal Book Builder and Interlinear Texts Question and => Creating an interlinear Bible that linked to thread => Leonberger Bibel als PB where a Java utility was used to convert LibreOffice (+) hyperlinks to Word nested hyperlinks.

Sorry, but no. And not any recent discussion.
