Dr. Heiser recently recorded a revised version of this course, so it will be different videos. We will be re-producing this material from scratch meaning new exams, reading links, etc. Dr. Heiser's original BI101 course was one of the first courses we recorded, and it includes many more screencast segments than a typical Mobile Ed course. These screencasts were filmed with Logos 5 and were tightly integrated into the original design of the course. The revised version is designed more in line with the rest of our courses and will include an Activities resource. The content will be similar to the original BI101, but Dr. Heiser added some material and changed some of the other content when he recorded it.

It seems strange that FL would continue to sell the original BI101 and not offer the revised BI101 as a stand alone resourse. The only way to purchase the revised version is with a Certificate Course. I suppose this is similar to a 2nd edition. I feel FL should offer a discount for an upgrade to the revised version. I'll have to look to see when I purchased it.

I hope they're not going to do this to all the other ME I purchased early on. I'm going to have to rethink my purchase plans if they're going to make my resources obsolete like they have on this one.

    Disappointed in 2017, Dale Heath

BI101 is unique since it had a lot of screencast videos that were tightly integrated into the course content. We have no plans to make revised versions of any other courses. We will be offering the revised edition of BI101 as a stand alone pre-order just like we do for all new courses soon.

Miles, I can prurchase BI101(revised) in several different Certificate Programs. My lowest price today is $108.18 in the New Testament program, because it's on sale. Will the stand alone pre-pub be less than this sale price? Are there going to be any discounts for those who purchased the defunct BI101?

I paid $94.98 for it back in 2015.

Miles, I did some quick math and I believe the pre-pub on BI101 revised will be around $150. Am I close? So, I think the best price will be to purchase the New Testament program on sale at 30% off. Don't they usually factor in the pre-pub price when one of the five are not published yet?

    Thanks, Dale Heath

We will be setting up a discount for people who own the original BI101. We're still working on the details, but if you own BI101 you will be able to purchase the revised edition for less than the price you listed as part of the New Testament Certificate program. We're hoping to get the discount set up this week, and I'll update here when it's ready.

Miles, what was the final resolution on BI101? Did it end up being a free replacement?

    Thanks, Dale Heath

Thanks for following up. Sorry for the delay...it took us a bit longer than I expected to get everything set up correctly. We did end up deciding to add the revised edition of BI101 for free to anyone who had purchased the original version of BI101. This has been indicated in a call out box on the new product page for the revised BI101 that just went up today: https://www.logos.com/product/149559/mobile-ed-bi101-introducing-biblical-interpretation-contexts-and-resources

If you already own BI101, you will get the revised edition automatically when it ships. You don't need to take any action. You should also see an update to the dynamic pricing of the any new certificates that include the revised BI101.
