This is great information. I would love to see a category added to the Logos 4 forum list just highlighting what those mysterious updates are. It would be so much easier to find! Thanks Melissa!

Agreed. Or even the ability to sign up to an RSS feed or email update that details what is in each update.

[Y] This is a great idea. The Home Page already uses RSS feeds, so why doesn't the Logos team make another feed for resource update details and then make it optional to include this information on one's home page.
That would just be splendid!
The suggestion by Sumair Mirza and others is an excellent idea. An optional RSS feed on the Home Page for notices on program and resource updates would be helpful. "Logos Updates" right after "Logos Pre-Pubs". Perhaps with detail on the resource updates for those really interested. But just a notice of an available program or resource update would be fine with me. Something like:
The following n Megabyte Logos Program Update was released Jan. 12, 2010:
Logos 4.0a SR-3 (v4.0.1.3.5180)
The following Logos Resource Update* was released Feb. 11, 2010:
The Amarna Letters (AMARNA.logos4, LLS:8.30.1) dated Jan. 29, 2010 to correct typos.
…

Thanks, Melissa!
I wonder if it would be possible to let us know on the homepage of Logos 4 that an update is about to come, maybe with a link to the forum so we can check it out? My slow ISP didn't allow me to access the Internet while downloading! Anyway, it's good to know what has been updated.

Actually, my personal preference would be to have an update on what was downloaded for each of us in Logos itself. I say that because the list above, while somewhat useful will only really become useful to me if I go check in my Library to see which of those books I have.
By having Logos update each person, we'd know exactly which of our books was updated without further research.
I say this because I just recently upgraded to the Scholar's Edition after years of having a more "random cobbled-together" version of Logos, so quite frankly, I have no real idea what books I do or do not have... see what I mean?
Keep up the good work, Logos! I do especially appreciate the automatic updating and synchronizing!

It's impossible not to agree with this. It seems relatively straightforward to add. Ideally, it would be great if there was also an indication as to why the resource had been updated. Just a single line would do.
This is my personal Faithlife account. On 1 March 2022, I started working for Faithlife, and have a new 'official' user account. Posts on this account shouldn't be taken as official Faithlife views!
I had the indexer problem on both my laptop and desktop. Both are Windows 7. The Laptop would give me a notice that it had quit working. The desktop, when I would hover over it to see how much time remained it would simply disappear.
I done a rebuild index (4 to 5 hours with Scholars plus a few more collections).

I am right in assuming that we may or may not see all of those new resources, depending on which version of Logos Bible software we own?
Yes, you are correct.
Prov. 15:23
Hi Michael - I think you are correct. My download was 88 MB, Leader's Level plus some other resources.
I have the Scholar's Library - I can't remember the size of my download, although I'm grateful for every byte of it!
Dell Studio XPS16 / Win 7 64bit / i7 Q720 @ 1.60GHz (2.80GHz Turbo) 6MB Cache / 4GB RAM / 500GM Hard Disk @ 7200 RPM / ATI Mobility RADEON® HD 4670 – 1GB

Thank you. [}] (Does that really look like a hug?)
This is great. How can I find out this same information in the future? Meaning when I see future updates coming where is the best place to find out the content of the download?
Thanks,
Chuck
Currently the forums are the best place to find these things out. You can set your settings to "Automatically Download updates" to No and then when you see Logos notifying you that updates are available come to the forum and check the Logos 4 forum for a thread like this one (or release notes for a new version).
Prov. 15:23
Do the updated resources apply to certain customers? Because, I didn't receive them.
The resource updates are based on your licenses, the books unlocked in Logos. If you have both 'Use Internet' and 'Automatically Download Updates' set to Yes in Tools > Program Settings, you may not own the ones available in this update.
What I have is:4.oa SR-3(4.01.3.5180).Is there any update after this?
No, this is the latest shipped version. You'll occasionally see people posting here about 4.0b but that is still in beta testing, not shipped yet. You can upgrade to the beta if you want to be testing it, but there are still some bugs and you'd be expected to report them if you encounter them. It's pretty stable though, so if you're eager for some of the new features, you could give it a try. See here for info on how to get the beta (and cautions about using any beta software): http://community.logos.com/forums/t/8883.aspx. Here are the release notes showing the new features and bug fixes that have been added in 4.0b since 4.0a:
http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4_Beta_Release_Notes. Someone had put together a complete list from all of those here, though it's not completely up-to-date: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/12035/94117.aspx#94117
Thank you Melissa for the "head's up"!
This is "very" helpful information.
Regards, SteveF
Thanks for the heads up! Is there any kind of "change log" that tells us what exactly has been updated within the resources?
Depending on the resource, books in this list may have been rebuilt to correct: data types, typos, milestones, or headwords. The NASB (1977 version) was rebuilt from an older LLS version so it would be recognized as a Bible in Logos 4.
Terrific, thanks [:)]
