New Courses on Community Pricing
I'm excited to announce that we've put two new courses on community pricing for you to bid on: MI255 Peace in the City: Alexis de Tocqueville and the Church in America and OT300 Old Testament Theology.
OT300 Old Testament Theology is a 16-hour course by esteemed OT scholar Bruce Waltke:
Survey the themes and purpose of the Old Testament with renowned Old Testament scholar Bruce Waltke. You’ll get a clearer understanding of how the different books of the Old Testament fit together to tell the grand story of God’s plan of salvation. The course covers creation, the fall, God’s covenants with His people, and God’s great acts of redemption and deliverance in the Old Testament. Dr. Waltke explores how the different genres of literature in the Old Testament explain and expand on the story of the Old Testament and how this story is relevant to you. As he says in the course:
“Through biblical theology I hope you will know God personally—not only learn about Him, but you will come to know Him personally. And also through this course, you will know who you are and where you fit into the scheme of things—that you are a part of a great story of salvation history. You are part of the establishment of God’s kingdom on earth.”
MI255 Peace in the City: Alexis de Tocqueville and the Church in America by Jim Belcher is a 6-hour course discussing how the church in America can be a positively influence on the culture around it:
In Peace in the City: Alexis de Tocqueville and the Church in America (MI255) Dr. Jim Belcher—drawing from Jeremiah 29:7—explores how the church in America can live out the mission to “seek the welfare of the city” in which it lives. He looks at important questions like: What does it mean to be missional? How do we engage the world? and How do we get involved in our local communities? To answer these, Dr. Belcher looks at the writings of Alexis de Tocqueville, specifically his Democracy in America. Using de Tocqueville’s analysis, the course provides insight on American culture and shows how the church can speak into that culture effectively.

MI 225 - Peace in the City:
Does anyone have thoughts regarding the usefulness or suitability of this teaching for someone like myself, who is not American?

It'll be hard. Much of it looks like history. What you need it's probably more on practical politics, not American politics or history of politics.
You'd probably benefited only from the very last part of the TOC.

"Guessmancy" ... what a neat word. It comes from newly arrived 2nd-ed https://www.logos.com/product/145453/finding-the-will-of-god-a-pagan-notion-second-edition by Mr Waltke. I thought he might be talking about the 32 versions of Christianity in our little New Age town. But not.
Anyway, Mr Waltke's new course likely to be refreshing.

Lets you and I and us all work hard to get it under 100USD, David. I am hoping they will lower the minimum later. I figure <100 will take patience and time.

If that's the ending price, I'll pass too. But... since that's the lowest bid price Faithlife is currently allowing, I went ahead and placed a bid in the hope of getting the ball rolling and seeing that price drop dramatically.

I'd be willing to pay $70 for OT300 and $25 for MI225.
I've placed my bid on OT300 to show support for this resource, but will remove it if no lower bidding options are introduced.

Bingo + ditto.
Well you guys and Rick have talked me into bidding. I would imagine that the way Faithlife are going with some of these courses at the moment we won't need to worry about paying for it until 2025 at the earliest..............[;)]

The lowest possible bid has been lowered for both courses. As others have pointed out, the more bids these get the more that number will drop. If you are interested in the courses at all then you should bid. You can always lower your bid or drop out later.

Thank you. Let's keep getting that lowest bid price smaller!

A new lower bid price has been added for each course.
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

MI255 will move into production on Friday.
Getting the price further down seems unlikely, but you never know... We've seen some incredible last minute price drops before.

I already own and have in my library OT300. How can it be on community pricing?
I dug through my Order History and see that i bought OT300 at the end of December 2018 for $100 which must have been some kind of special deal.

The special deal was the CP closing bid. I too got it on Dec 31, 2018 for $100.
