FYI -- Just noticed that all the Exalting Jesus titles are missing from Faithlife Ebooks (old Vyrso). What gives???

May mean they are being moved into a Logos format.

Which should mean that if you owned them in Vryso format, you will get them free in Logos format.

I spotted too, as I have 2 volumes bookmarked. I've contacted someone internally for the inside track on what's happening. Will update when I get a response.

Just had the response. It seems we shouldn't hold our breath. It's unlikely to return to "Vyrso" and it doesn't seem there's a plan to transfer to Logos. It seems people don't like the lack of Logos functionality in a "Vyrso" commentary. Personally I didn't have a problem with that in these books as they're fairly basic expositions but very helpful nonetheless. Looks like we may need to go elsewhere to complete. Thankfully I had all bar two that had been published. Just a shame to have to have forthcoming volumes in other software.

From the email I received, I wouldn't be sure it will. However, we can but hope. My only fear if it were in Logos though is that it might be too expensive for the type of resource. I can get in another software program for $7 a volume.

If I am not mistaken they may show up in the WordSearch program since it is owned by B&H (Lifeway) and Exalting Jesus is a B&H product. Thanks for the research.

It was Wordsearch I was referring to at $7. Olive Tree offer too, but only seem to sell individual volumes at $15 - even when on offer elsewhere. Kindle obviously offer too.

It's sad that this has happened. Although these books are fairly basic as commentaries and I wouldn't rely on them for any serious work, they are an easy read and possess a wider usefulness.
I had been slowly collecting them each time they appeared on sale and managed to collect about 16. Still, I'm glad for what I have! [:)] Keep well Paul

Accordance and WORDsearch already have them. There isn’t that much tagging to do, so cheap vyrso edition will do. No need for Logos tagging; it will make it too expensive!

I agree with you that a series like Exalting Jesus/Christ Centered Exposition does not require all the tagging and a cheap eBook within the Faithlife software is absolutely fine - so I'm actually happy to have it in "Vyrso" and not pay for the tagging. Faithlife understandably believe "Vyrso" is not the right format for commentaries, but I'm not sure I see Exalting Jesus as a commentary as such. However, I do value it for sermon prep, so will buy in Kindle, Olive Tree or Wordsearch if necessary - but would prefer a cheap Faithlife solution.
They did suggest it is possible the series could come back, so if we feel passionate about this series I guess we need to be vocal.

Keith, we've had lots of complaints in the past when commentaries have accidentally slipped through to Vyrso where don't have the functionality necessary to make them (1) show up in the commentaries guide section, (2) be navigable by Bible reference, (3) be able to join a link set with a Bible, etc. It's a very subpar experience. But if you all would like to have access to the content, knowing those drawbacks, it seems like we could revisit this and instead just put a callout on the page that lets people know these resources won't function like commentaries. Ben and I will discuss it again.

I would appreciate that decision. If the only way I can get a resource in logos is thru the ebook route I would rather have that than nothing. Anyone familiar with your ebook platform should already understand these shortcomings in my view

Yes, but a box warning about that would help communicate it to people less familiar with the platform, and release Faithlife from the argument they would implicitly overpromise the functionality.

Phil, thank you for the explanation. It makes sense when you put it like that. I would still agree with everyone else and say it would be worth having them in Logos format preferably but the e-book format is good enough. I just don't want to have to buy it elsewhere when I have invested in 15 volumes of the series already. Thank you for considering.

Please bring them back! But that's the problem isn't it? There are lots of other options - this series is available with Wordsearch, Accordance and Olive Tree in addition to Amazon, which leaves Logos as the only major Bible software publisher not carrying them.
Frankly if Logos can only offer them sub par, I'd rather spend my money with someone who can do the job properly, especially if there is little difference in the price. I have enough sub par Vyrso titles as it is

So why can you not produce them as proper Logos editions Phil? None of your rivals seem to have a problem producing what I assume is a "working" product as far as I am aware

But I will still prefer to have it in Vyrso (Faithlife EBooks) just to keep everything in the same program. [:D]

In my experience the Exalting Jesus books within Vyrso are very good as eBooks. Yes they may not have the functionality of Logos, but neither do the other digital providers for Exalting Jesus.
Ironically the most subpar experience I've had with "Vyrso" is with a novel I bought recently as the digitisation failed to show where one scene switched to another within chapters, which is clearly shown in the print version. The Exalting Jesus books though have clear section breaks, headings, use of italics (where in the original) etc.

Generally speaking, FL has two different kinds of agreements with publishers. The licensing agreements for Logos editions are very different than those for Vyrso editions. Some publisher's don't want their resources in Logos (value added) but are fine with the agreements of an eBook (Vyrso/Faithlife eBook).

Phil: This is a suggestion..first the disclamer...I realize that what I suggest may not be practical. But if you still have "doubts" about the product in Vyrso/Ebook format...Then work something out with B&H and put all volumes on sale as a collection (hopefully a good discount) and include dynamic pricing. That way we can complete the set. Of course, if there are move volumes to be added in the future then this may not work.

i have been challenging FL ever since they opened the Vyrso store for honesty and transperancy in the limitations of the format but Bob Pritchett refused to accept there was even a problem. Interesting to note someone from FL now acknowledge their is a problem. This sort of transparency in the limitations of FL eBooks should have occurred years ago rather than now being considered as an option as a workaround due to a blowup over one set of resources being removed from sale.

Hmm, 'very subpar' - Well, here's a thought then - why not make them 'real' Logos books? !!!!
However, if you are unable/unwilling to negotiate the contract with the publishers, I agree with others on this thread, sub-par performance is better than no performance.
For reference, I currently own 24 books in the series!

I only own 15 volumes at this point. Of the 15 I have, you only have 14 on the FL EB site. You are missing the volume on Galatians so that will also need to be activated when you have time.
