Logos 4 Help resource

The Logos 4 Help resource is included in Beta 1, although it is still 'under construction'.  Clicking on the help icon (?) on the right side of the command bar and choosing Logos Bible Software Help from the menu will open the Help panel. Pressing F1 in any of the panels will open Help as well.

Typing show help on ... in the Command box will open help to a specific topic. For example, show help on guides will open Help to articles on 'Passage Guide', Edit Guide Template', 'How do I combine Passage and Exegetical Guide results into one report?', etc.

Please add any requests for future help articles and any other Help suggestions to this thread.

Thank you!

Melissa

Thanks for the tip Melissa on the Command box.

We really need a way to search this fourm....I had real trouble trying to refind this thread.... which I appreciate you probably can't do anything about Melissa.. what I wanted to post was I picked up on a typo in help file.  In the Section titled: Biblical Things Options the first instruction states - 1. Generate a Biblical Places Report... I believe given the context it should say instead - 1. Generate a Biblical Things Report.  Note the hyerlink also takes you wrongly to the Biblical Place article instead of the Biblical Things article.

    Regards,

    Andrew

I concur. Unless we find a way to search the forums it is next to impossible to find specific issues one may be interested in following up.

Thanks for the information on the Help article and suggestion about the forum. I'm sure we'll be looking at better ways to organize and search this forum.

Another issue I've come across with help file in section Resource Priority.

    From point 2:

There is no step a, b or c. But su-points 1, 2 and 3.  Sub point 1 seems to be standalone and would be equivalent to a , Sub points 2 and 3 seem to relate and would be equivalent to b. This means c, the third option is missing, if it exists.

2.Prioritize resources using step a., or steps b-c.

1.Right-click on a resource title and choose Prioritize this resource from the context menu. (Note: If the resource is part of a series, you will also have the option to Prioritize this series.) This action will open the Prioritize pane.
2.Click on Prioritize on the Library toolbar to open the Prioritize pane.
3.Drag one or more preferred resources to that pane. (Note: When you drag a resource title that is part of a series, the whole series will be added. If you only want one, follow step a. instead.)

It appears that when the help resource was compiled, it didn't recognize the letters and changed them to numbers. Thank you for pointing this out. I'll revise the article so there is no confusion.

Melissa, I am able to bring up the Help panel but I cannot access anything in Help by typing in show help on guides, for instance.  I type it in the command box and I have tried typing it in the help box.  What am I doing wrong?

I think I had the same problem initially. When you open the NKJV do you have the option to open the interlinear?

    Phil,

The reason I want to open up Help is so that I can read before trying all kinds of things...and getting more confused.  I can access the Help command line (if that is what it is called) and I see the words "Get help on" and then no matter what I type in, nothing comes up.  I have tried this on the Command line to the program.  So, Logos staff, please help.

    Hi Joan,

When you open Logos Bible Software Help, do you see the list of items under the Help on ..., Searching, and other headings?  If you do, can you click on a link to bring up corresponding articles?

Also, has the program finished Indexing?  Any problems during that process?

    Thanks,

    Melissa
