"Learn to Use Biblical Greek and Hebrew" video series

I posted this question under 'General' but would like to do it here as it is rather important if I am to make the pre-pub offer for the "Learn to Use Biblical Greek and Hebrew" video series.
I have the Leader's Library - how much of what is covered in the videos can be practiced using the tools available with the Leader's edition, 25%, 50%, 75%, other?
This is important to me as it is not financially feasible for me to upgrade in order to utilize the "Learn to Use Biblical Greek and Hebrew" video series.
Many thanks,
Jan

Jan, unfortunately since this is an unreleased product none of us has seen it and we can't answer your question. You will need to email sales@logos.com to ask about that.

I don't want to steer in one way or the other here. I see it as a benefit to get it. Right now it is 159.....Later it will be 499. That is a 300 dollar increase. It is not possible to upgrade (now)....may be later. I was just looking at comparison chart. It seems leaders to scholars is only 300 dollars so upgrade is 250?? Anyway, the point is....Can you afford 550 later? It seems you have some language books.

Mine didn't BUT I know that somebody on the forums has gotten theirs because they asked a question about the TOC.

Hi William,
After much thought and deliberation and a lot of influence from kind folk like you I 'bit the bullet' and went for the top: Upgraded from Leader's to Scholars, bought BDAG and obviously the Video Series.
Have not received the video series yet (takes three weeks here in South Africa) but I am happy after all that I took the plunge. Hopefully I will receive the videos before the credit card statement!
Thank you William and others (including Dave Kaplan of Logos) who advised me through this whole process.

Jan,
I am sure you will love these video's. Now that you have a much bigger library as well I am sure everything will be good. I have not gotten my video's yet. I just pray the Lord Bless you through this purchase. I was very hesitant to offer the advice I did because of the financial piece you mentioned. If nothing else, I was thinking get the video's now and upgrade later to Scholar's and BDAG. Just have a great time learning and growing in the Lord of mercy and grace.

Just got the videos today (Philly area), looking forward to checking them out. 2 DVDs (1 Greek, 1 Hebrew) with "Moe's Top 10 Keyboard Shortcuts" on a card.
The terms of use state that these can be presented "in a group setting, provided your students own a copy." Does this mean that every student in the class needs to own a copy of the DVDs? Or they need to own a copy of Logos 4?

I believe that means that each person in the class will need a copy of the DVDs.

I received my copy today also and there was a small sheet of paper with additional information about the use.
"These videos are for personal and classroom use. You may present them in a group setting."
There is no mention of the members of the group being required to have a copy on this notice. Of course it states you cannot make copies for the students in your classroom.
I'd think that while some revenue might be lost by Logos allowing these to be used for classroom instruction, they will sell a lot more resources once students learn how Logos can benefit their Bible study through seeing a classroom presentation. My opinion of course and I don't set the license agreements.

Has anyone noticed the graphics on these discs? Logos Bible Software 3.0 and the Libronix logo are prominently displayed.
Keeping alive the old brand, I guess.

"These videos are for personal and classroom use. You may present them
in a group setting."I take this that you can use a projector hooked to your computer and show the videos on a screen in a room for a group of people...I also believe this will be great advertisements for Logos 4....
Got mine today, already copied them to my hard drive and external drive (for backup).....skipped around different chapters...these look really good....

Has anyone noticed that the lesson on the Greek alphabet is one letter short of a full load: the letter delta is missing!

How appropriate. In physics delta was used as an abbreviation for variance or difference.

There are really two letters missing. "Psi" was skipped. For the letter "ypsilon" the symbol is in the right place, but the pronunciation is for "psi".

Johnny,
I got my disks today, tossed in the Greek right after work and am GLUED to the content! I'm learning more about the tools, which I had hoped, and so much more about strategies that might be helpful in taking my study to a new level. I've also planned to change around my library priorities after seeing how you have pointed out strong points of various dictionaries, etc. Thanks for your work on this project and I look forward to watching it grow from here. As someone who never put weight on the value of learning the biblical languages earlier in life and is compelled to delve deeper now, these are just what I need.

Gary, they will be issuing an updated video for that alphabet lesson as well as the Hebrew alphabet lesson very soon. Typos were found in the proofing and edits made, but somehow there was a "rendering error" whatever that means, and those fixes didn't get into the final released DVD. They realized this a day before shipping but decided to go ahead with the shipping rather than scrap all the DVDs that had already been duplicated, and they're taking care of it by making the fixed versions available for download. Watch the forums for an announcement about that -- should be available soon.

They will be made available at no cost. You might have to opt-in to a disc delivery, I don't think it's been set up yet. See: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/19285.aspx

Hello,
Now that it is almost the end of August, has anyone heard anything lately regarding the DVD replacements?
Thank you,
Paul

I was wondering the same thing, I haven't even started watching the videos because from the first video I saw so many glitches that I seemed too hard to follow along without getting distracted by the editing issues.
Now that August is over with no news, I would love an accurate update as to where they are at and when we can expect a more finalized and useable product.
