"Learn to Use Biblical Greek and Hebrew" video series

those two updates are not what I was referring to, there are far more glitches in editing than two videos. Bob Pritchett gave a post saying that in August completely updated videos with fixed editing would be available and would be shipped to customers for free. Those two video updates were only because they gave wrong information regarding the alphabets for greek and hebrew, but that wasn't geared to fix all of the other timing and visual glitches.
you can see that post here: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/19285.aspx

I humbly agree with Jason, as we purchased the video series with the expectations that the product (the DVD's) were of LOGO's quality that we have come to know and have confidence in. I still have faith in LOGO's that they will come through in their agreement to replace those DVD's with the replacement.
Logo's; I respectfully ask that you communicate to those who are expecting the replacements, as to your timeline as to there arrival.
Thank you!

I am sorry, Jason. You are right, I missed that. I have seen that post from Bob, but I forgot about it. Now I remember his promise. But at the end of this ( http://community.logos.com/forums/t/20187.aspx ) post - announcing the alphabet updates - there is a line telling us that they are working on it!

Hello Logo's,
I want to be very sensitive to this situation as well as respectful, so please understand I am smiling as I write this......[:)]
I have wriiten to Logo's customer service twice and have written on this forum a couple of times, asking when the replacement DVD's will be available (to this date, I have not been responded to). I like Jason, a couple of comments above, have not started this study until the new discs arrive. This is due to my desire for a consistent and uninterupted study.
Please respond to me, even if you have to tell me that the replacements disks are delayed. At least I know you are listening to me.
Sincerely and Humbly,
Paul Rose

To me this request seems a bit unreasonable. Because of the initial problems I would not be surprised if Logos were to go with a different duplicating company or at least write a new contract enforcing better quality control. We also do not know if the problems in the master require reediting or reshooting. These provide enough unknowns and negotiations that Logos would be foolish to commit to a date until they know all parties can deliver by that date. To some extent the current 'fiasco' is the result of trying to meet a date even after they had found problems. I don't want to see a repeat. [:)]

Unreasonable for a customer to ask when corrections to a product shipped with errors would be available? Come on now...
Is it ever "unreasonable" to ask? If your conjecture is in fact what is happening, why can't Logos state why they can't give a date, or promise some updates periodically on how it is going etc.? To grant them the right to silence given they have already shipped something they have admitted is below standard, is wearing the Logos-colored glasses a little too tightly. We are just asking for an update!

I wasn't responding to the question per se but to the implied frequency with which it had been asked - given the number of people who are asking. To me, the no answer implies that there is nothing new to report since the last time Logos answered. I would expect Logos to give a status update every couple of months. But I am constantly surprised by many posts on many topics the degree to which users of Logos 'demand' business information that one would never ask of other corporations. Mind you asking about corrections to a faulty product is appropriate for any corporation.

Hi, Paul. Others have been asking the same on other threads and nobody from Logos seems to have seen the questions. I don't think they peruse old threads. Could you do us a favor? Email Logos Customer Service and ask (customerservice@logos.com) and post back here what you hear from them? Thanks!
The latest info I have is quite old and it was that they were going to redo the editing on all the lessons instead of rushing out a quick fix for the alphabet lessons only (the fixes to those were posted as downloadable files), so it could take them some time. But I have no idea how long these things take to do.

I just wanted to let you know that I did write to the Logos Customer Service and as of this date, I have not heard from them as to a more definitive date as to the corrected DVDS.

I have written a few emails to Logos regarding the time-table as to the replacement DVDs and all responses are that there is no set dates. I get the impression that they are avoiding the issue. (Forgive me if that sounds judgemental).

Nobody is intentionally avoiding the issue. It's just that it is hard to predict how long development work is going to take sometimes, and they can't always be giving a status update every couple of weeks because they'll end up with more angry people when they miss their target ship date than if they just kept quiet about it until they knew for sure. I got an email from Phil Gons today who says he's going to have someone give an official answer on the forum. He said: I’ve heard we have the finished files in hand.
But I'm guessing it could still be a few more weeks before the DVDs are arriving at people's addresses. They'll have to do careful checking to make sure there are no embarrassing errors like last time, burn the master disc and send it off for duplication, prepare the packaging, and send them out to everyone who purchased the initial version.

Rosie,
Perhaps they are waiting also for the scheduled new feature to be added in the 4th quarter this year. i don't know what the Video Resources feature will do, but it might allow these Videos to be linked to run inside of L4.

I thought so at one point too, but someone else said that feature is to allow resources that have embedded videos to play those videos. Here's the thread where that was being discussed, and a list of some old resources that had videos built into them: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/19757/171580.aspx#171580

I am not angry and I am not asking for a ship date. I am asking for an update. From your emails, it looks like you get updates from people like Phil Gons. A simple update from people who are involved in the project to tell us that "they are still working on it"; "apologies that it is taking so long but we have not forgotten about it" etc would be helpful. Remember, the DVDs came out quite a long time ago.
If the company does not want to be giving out status quo updates every couple of weeks...that is fine. But the last official news we heard was from Bob on July 5. That was over 4 months ago. I do not think I am being impatient. So the questions continue. And from time to time the question will come up again on the forum, until there is an answer concerning a product that was shipped defective.

And I'm trying to help you get an update.
Mark said:From your emails, it looks like you get updates from people like Phil Gons.
No, I don't get updates in email in general. I emailed Phil today to ask because people had been asking why there hadn't been an update in a long time. And I posted what I heard as soon as I heard it. Anyone could theoretically have done that. Phil's email is readily available if you Google it. However it's probably best to have fewer people contact them to bug them (hence MVPs will tend to step forward into that role when we see that others are getting antsy about some news). But if you post on a forum, like you did here, when you want to know what's going on, someone will likely notice it and ask on your behalf, or a Logos employee will post a response if they know anything more than what was given in the last update.
Check back on this thread later today or tomorrow and there should be some sort of an update, since Phil promised, at my request, to get one to us.
In sum: you did the right thing. I wasn't putting down your query at all. I was just explaining (to the best of my knowledge) why Logos doesn't give updates more often, and giving you access to the best answer I could get for you for now, and hoping for more from Logos shortly.
Cheers! [:)]

I found version 2 videos under my order summary under my account page for logos. The video sizes are really large, about 10 gigs for the three videos, so I think this is the full complete updated videos. I am trying to download the first one now.
I hope they also ship us the videos though too, the video downloads take hours because they are so large and the download actually failed a few times because of its size I think.

I just watched one of them fully download, and it said "decompression failed," so their must be a glitch in the package or something, which further validates my desire for the actual discs. (of course just because they haven't said anything yet doesn't mean that they wont send us discs or give us the option to order them, so I am not complaining, I am just pointing out the benefit of getting the content on dvd instead of trying to download it [:D])The other problem is that if the download gets interrupted I have found that it wants to start over instead of finishing where it left off like many other downloads, which is problem for such large file sizes.

Thanks for bringing this to everybody's attention. I'm also hoping the videos ship on DVD. My network hub is dropping connection with my ISP every half hour or so. (& Those files are HUGE! )

Ok, I downloaded one, and got the same message. I then went into my downloads folder, found the .zip file and extracted it, it works just fine.

Went and looked at the source coding for the page. I can see that the zip files are in there somewhere, but I don't know how to access them.

Success! Using ctrl-f to search for "Greek-v2" brought up the bottom of the page with the download files!

uggh.... download take 3! There goes my download limit for the month
I think when asking us to download such big files we need a download manager of some sort! I use one, but the logos website won't let me resume the download

They didn't ask us to download the files. They are sending us a DVD as well, so we could wait for that if we don't want to download. I guess it's too late for you. [:(]

According to the email I got today Logos will only send the DVDs if I request them before December 3rd.
Here is a partial excerpt:
"If you prefer not to download the new videos, you can request a free replacement DVD.

correct, and then send an email with your name to greekhebrewvideos@logos.com

Yes, some of us have received it. There already has been found a problem with the very first Greek video. I do not know if that means Logos will delay more shipments or not. If you ordered a DVD, you are expected to receive it in the mail, even if you live in HK
