mike,
updates aren't done for the sake of updating.
I'm not sure what you mean by "looks abandonded & very anemic" and I'm not sure if others are better off in understanding this. So at least for me, there's no real use in you bumping your post.
In fact, Faithlife can't differentiate between the sub-groups within the bullets without further information.
From the forums, the only relevant issue with Visual Copy seems to be lack of user awareness regarding changeability of text in Verse-of-the-day artwork pieces, which are not differentiated in the UI from the VC templates. Whether this alone merits an update (and in which direction?) I'm not sure. Maybe Faithlife sees it mainly as a training issue that is best solved on the forums and done with it.
Other than that, some suggestions come up sometimes rather infrequently, some - as per my private, not representative and fully uninformed judgment - with more merit (allow custom templates), some with less (allow for a gazillion of characters instead of limiting at a point that is already much too unwieldy now).
So, you'd help your case much more if you would give examples of which updates you want (functionality, UI, the author/book/topic/... templates), what you are lacking in using it today and what updates would change your usage of it how.
I believe that mike is referring to his previous feature requests for Visual Copy:
We don't have any news to share at this point about planned or upcoming improvements to Visual Copy.

Bradley,
This is really a sad news. The Visual Copy has been out for a long time but have not received any attention or care at all. Does no one use this at all, is that why??

The same can be said for Handouts where pressure to make it into something Faithlife did not intend resulted in it's being deprecated. Or the same can be said for Sentence diagrams which simply gets minimal usage because of its limitations. The way to get it attention is to get a consolidated entry of specific high-priority features in Uservoice and get the votes to put it in the top 3-4 requests. It takes some work but it has been done successfully.
Speaking for myself, I only use it rarely to get quotes into Powerpoint presentations for preaching or teaching, and it's just fine for that as far as I am concerned. I wouldn't use it any more if they were to develop a whole lot of additional features for it. I like the way I can get an author-specific slide, so that if I'm using a Spurgeon quote I can get a picture of Spurgeon on the slide. I also don't want them developing a poor man's Powerpoint or Keynote: I've already got them, and don't think Faithlife is likely to better them. In fact, I'd prefer them to concentrate on making the "Copy Bible Verses" functionality a bit smarter (size for slide, split between slides, etc).
I wouldn't really want FL spending development effort on enhancing this feature when there are a great many other study-related features that are, to my mind, far more important (graphical search interface, enhancements to Notes, etc. But then, we probably each have our own list of the things we think are most important!

This is the improvement I want now! [:D]

It's already there. You might need Logos Now to get the media, but here's an example of precisely that with a random Spurgeon quote.

Keep Smiling [:)]
I couldnt agree more!
I love the concept, but it needs MAJOR work. Every time I use this feature (twice a week), I dream of a day when it will be more user-friendly. It has great potential.
I'd love to be able to download slides blanks locally as opposed to accessing from the cloud.
Would LOVE more edit capabilities (bold, larger font. font style) on the slides.
Would LOVE the ability to have VC produce slides for an entire passage at one time (1 verse per slide, 10 slides for 10 verses).
Sure hope they are planning on updating this feature for L7. Would be a real let down if not!

We know this is a popular feature, and people want more power and flexibility in Visual Copy. We're working on that.
FWIW, in the meantime, Proclaim has a richer slide editor, and if you 'Send to Proclaim' to use your slide there, you'll find more capabilities, including the ability to create 10 slides for 10 verses, etc.
BTW, why do you want the slides locally instead of via the Internet? Do you use this when offline, or just want improved speed? (We get the slides from the Internet because there are a lot of backgrounds and slides, and we're constantly creating new ones.)
